Engine Battle: 2021 Dodge Charger vs 2021 Toyota Avalon in BC

If you want a sporty sedan with plenty of engine options, then there isn’t another vehicle on the market that can outshine the 2021 Dodge Charger. Compared to the 2021 Toyota Avalon, it has an entire line of racetrack-ready motors to pick from.
 

First, the Toyota Avalon comes standard with a 3.5-litre V6 that delivers 301 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. It is also paired with FWD and an 8-speed automatic transmission. If you want an AWD version, that will be available on the XLE and Touring trims. It comes with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder that makes 205 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque.
 

On the other hand, the Dodge Charger can be fitted with five different engines. The base is Canada’s favourite 3.6-litre V6 that produces 300 hp and 364 lb-ft of torque. However, the R/T uses a 5.7-litre HEMI V8 that pumps out 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for either of the Scat Pack models, they will each come with the 392 HEMI V8 that churns out 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the line are the SRT Hellcats. Both use the 6.2-litre supercharged V8. But one pushes out 717 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, while the other makes a staggering 797 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque.
