If you are in search of a diesel-powered pickup, then you need to take a peek at the 2022 Ram 1500 lineup. Compared to the 2022 Ford F-150 models, there is a clear winner here. Plus, you can take one home today after a quick visit with our team at O’Connor Chrysler in BC.
Â
The Ram 1500 can be fitted with the magnanimous 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6. Available on the Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims, it uses a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission and your choice of a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. Generating 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, it offers everything you need for the best alternative energy performance. The 4x2 model can tow up to 5,696 kg (12,560 lbs), and the 4x4 version can handle up to 4,472 kg (9,860 lbs) with no problem.
Â
On the other hand, the Ford F-150 is no longer available with a diesel motor. Previous production runs had a 3.0-litre option, but it has been eliminated. The current engine selection now includes most V6 engines, which can be alienating for drivers who prefer diesel.
