Hi Robert,
I want to make sure my new 2018 Nissan Kicks keeps running smoothly. Could you walk me through how to check its engine oil?
Thanks,
James
Hi, James!
Checking the engine oil in your 2018 Nissan Kicks is a simple process. All you need to do is follow the steps I've outlined below.
Firstly, make sure the engine is cold. If you have been driving beforehand, it may take one or two hours to cool down. Apart from the possibility that you could burn yourself, it may give a false reading if it's warm.
Next, lift your vehicle’s hood and look for the lid with a picture of an oil canister on it: you need to pop this off. You’ll notice that there’s a dipstick on the underside of it with maximum and minimum level indicators.
This dipstick will be covered in engine oil, so you’ll need to wipe it down. After this, place it back into the container you took it from.
Now take the dipstick out again and see how much of it is covered in engine oil. If it’s below the minimum marker, you need to top your Kicks up.
Thanks for the question, James. Don’t hesitate to contact Kirkland Nissan, Washington again.
