Most Common Nissan Vehicle Questions In Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
new 2018 nissan altima for sale everett kirkland washingtonDear Robert,

I recently bought a 2018 Nissan Altima but I don't have a lot of driving experience. I’m quite anxious about encountering a patch of black ice this winter. What should I do if this happens?

Thanks,
Amy

Hi, Amy!

You’re right to be cautious about driving your new 2018 Nissan Altima at this time of the year. Hitting a patch of black ice could cause your vehicle to spin out. But, if you follow the directions below, you should be able to keep control of your car.

The first and most important thing to keep in mind is not to panic or make any sudden movements. The next thing to remember is that you shouldn't touch the brakes; you want to pass over the top of the ice, not fight against it.

Try to keep your steering wheel as straight as possible. But, if you feel the back end of your Altima sliding to the left or right, make gentle turns in the same direction.

Struggling against black ice by hitting the brakes or countersteering increases your chances of skidding and spinning out. Patches usually don’t last for more than 20 feet, so you just need to stay composed for a short amount of time.

Thanks for the question, Amy. Stay safe this winter and don’t hesitate to contact Kirkland Nissan, Washington with any other questions.
new 2018 nissan titan for sale everett kirkland washingtonHi Robert,

I’m about to buy a new 2018 Nissan Titan but can’t decide whether to go for the 4x2 or 4x4 version. My friend said I would save money in the long run if I went for the 4x2: is he correct?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi, Andrew!

Whatever version of the 2018 Titan you go for, I’m sure you’ll be extremely satisfied. But, for all intents and purposes, your friend is right about the 4x2 version saving you money.

Since the 4x2 model has a lower production cost, its base price is cheaper. Mechanically, there's more going on underneath the 4x4 which makes it more expensive.

The additional heavy-duty parts on the 4x4 model add weight to it. So, since the 4x2 version is lighter, it gets better gas mileage; if you own this vehicle for a while and do a lot of driving, you will notice a difference at the pumps.

Finally, 4x4 vehicles tend to have a higher cost of ownership as there are more parts to maintain. This also means there are extra things which may need to be repaired or replaced over time.

Thanks for your question, Andrew! Why not call down to Kirkland Nissan, Washington and test drive both models for yourself?
new 2018 nissan rogue for sale everett kirkland washingtonDear Robert,

I know you’re supposed to get unbalanced tires fixed, but I don’t understand why. What problems would they cause my 2018 Nissan Rogue?

Thanks,
David

Hi, David!

You’re supposed to take care of this issue when you notice it, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t. Below are some of the long and short-term problems caused by driving with unbalanced tires.

When your car in good working order, it rides smoothly. But, once your tires become unbalanced, you'll start to notice vibrations throughout the vehicle. This could make your 2018 Nissan Rogue hard to control, even on well-maintained roads.

If you leave this problem unchecked, the vibrations will cause excessive wear and tear on your entire wheel assembly. So you could find that you need to replace your shocks or bearings faster than you usually would.

Your tires will also start to wear out unevenly. This issue, combined with the lack of balance, makes your vehicle more susceptible to sudden blowouts. So it won't just hurt your bank account to drive like this, it's outright dangerous.

Thanks for the question, David! Contact Kirkland Nissan, Washington again if you ever need anything else.
new 2018 nissan sentra for sale in everetts kirkland washingtonHi Robert,

Our current car is much too small for me, my husband, and our three-year-old daughter. I’m thinking of buying a new 2018 Nissan Sentra but I’m not sure if it will be big enough. What do you think?

Thanks,
Amelia

Hi, Amelia!

The 2018 Nissan Sentra may be classed as a compact but don't let that fool you, there’s tons of space inside.

This model is a five-seater and has an astonishing 97 cubic feet of interior volume. Which means, even if you’re driving with a full crew, everyone will have their own space.

With 37.4 inches of legroom on offer in the rear and 42.5 in the front, the Sentra is a pleasant place to be even for taller passengers.

Arguably, this model’s most impressive feature is the 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space available in the trunk. This isn’t just good for a compact, it’s competitive against bigger cars outside of this class.

If you find yourself transporting some oddly shaped items, as most do around the holiday season, you can drop the 60/40 folding rear seat. This allows you to fit even the most awkward things into your trunk.

Thanks for the question, Amelia! Why not come down to Kirkland Nissan, Washington and see if this model ticks all your boxes?
new 2018 nissan kicks for sale everett kirkland washingtonHi Robert,

I want to make sure my new 2018 Nissan Kicks keeps running smoothly. Could you walk me through how to check its engine oil?

Thanks,
James

Hi, James!

Checking the engine oil in your 2018 Nissan Kicks is a simple process. All you need to do is follow the steps I've outlined below.

Firstly, make sure the engine is cold. If you have been driving beforehand, it may take one or two hours to cool down. Apart from the possibility that you could burn yourself, it may give a false reading if it's warm.

Next, lift your vehicle’s hood and look for the lid with a picture of an oil canister on it: you need to pop this off. You’ll notice that there’s a dipstick on the underside of it with maximum and minimum level indicators.

This dipstick will be covered in engine oil, so you’ll need to wipe it down. After this, place it back into the container you took it from.

Now take the dipstick out again and see how much of it is covered in engine oil. If it’s below the minimum marker, you need to top your Kicks up.

Thanks for the question, James. Don’t hesitate to contact Kirkland Nissan, Washington again.
