Across Europe it goes - a 2.5L beast. Its profile is lean; its roar is loud; and its 32-inch off-road tires allow it to stomp across even the toughest terrains. This is the 2018 Nissan Navara and it has no equal… overseas.
As Top Speed explains the new Navara has been released to strong acclaim in Europe - with drivers craving its athletic body and off-road sensibility. An 0.8-inch suspension lift yields class-leading ground clearance, allowing the platform to deliver a wading depth of 31.5-inches; while the 35-inch approach angle promises easy maneuvering, protecting the undercarriage from debris. A 24-inch breakover ramp further impresses, enabling riders to seek out deep ruts and sudden inclines (it adjusts the transfer case and propeller to more efficient mounting positions and keeps them away from unsteady terrains).
Through this, the 2018 Navara can roar down every road - pushing its 2.5L engine to the limits. It delivers 160 HP, with the electronic rear differential locking perfectly in place with each rev.
The Kirkland team must confess: we’re envious of Europe. We’d love to see the new Navara racing down the Washington backroads (its intuitive 4WD would prove a perfect a complement to every adventure); and, while there are no official production plans, critics do wonder if Nissan will bring it stateside to compete with the Ford Ranger. We have our fingers crossed and our lot ready.
