2019 nissan armada platinum for sale kirkland washingtonAt the beginning of March, Nissan rolled out its IMQ SUV concept at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.

Multiple electric motors will be used to create all-wheel drive, and the battery pack is designed to provide 335 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Whether this marks Nissan’s entry into the fully electric SUV market or will be another hybrid wasn’t clear.

Motor Authority’s Sean Szymkowski said the IMQ has “a more fluid look than, say, the IMx concept from 2017.” In keeping with “the futuristic theme, the IMQ boasts Nissan's Invisible-to-Visible technology, which incorporates augmented reality, along with a virtual personal assistant and a prototype version of the ProPilot Assist system.”

Stop by Kirkland Nissan near Kent, Washington, and test drive a wonderful vehicle, like the 2019 Nissan Armada Platinum, today!

Yes, you read that right – Nissan just broke another Guinness World Records title for the largest synchronized car dance. We bet you didn’t even know that such an event existed – well, it does!

According to The Drive, Nissan’s Middle Eastern division used 180 Patrol SUVs in two concentric lines to create a giant dancing falcon – the national symbol of the UAE – measuring 225 metres in length and 176.5 metres in width. The formation, which covered a total distance of 1,476 metres, was held at Dubai’s Rugby 7s stadium and led by Zimbabwean driver Axyl Jeffries.

See it in action here:

Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time that the Nissan Patrol has broken a world record – rather, it’s the vehicle’s third time since its sixth generation was released just eight years ago. In September 2015, the car broke the record for the fastest ascent of a 100-meter sand dune by a car, scaling the hill in only 4.9 seconds. And two years earlier, in August 2013, the Patrol successfully towed the world’s heaviest aircraft for more than 164 feet at the Sharjah International Airport in the UAE.

Incredible, right? Perhaps this might inspire you to complete a similar attempt in the Armada, which is the North American equivalent of the Patrol. To learn more, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington.
2018 nissan armada for sale in seattle washingtonTen days and 1,600 miles later, Sedona Blinson and Leah Heffelfinger of Team Wild Grace crossed the Rebelle Rally’s finish line in San Diego in their 2018 Nissan Armada, which the duo affectionately called “Babe.” Out of 41 competitors, the mothers turned off-road navigation rally car drivers placed 11th in the competition.

"Babe" competed in the Bonestock category, which highlights stock, unmodified vehicles to provide a platform within the 4×4 and Crossover classes. In an interview, Heffelfinger noted that fellow competitors originally were surprised to see the Armada alongside other 4x4 Bonestock entries, but by the end of the race, many had a newfound respect for the Armada's capabilities.

"The Bonestock category was designed to prove that the vehicle in your driveway is more capable than you think it is, and the Armada proved exactly that," said the competitor. "'Babe' proved to be a powerhouse, dominating whoops, crawling up large and rocky hill climbs with ease in 4-Low. The fact that we came in 11th of 41 vehicles proves the Armada is every bit as capable as its competitors."

Nothing on the Armada was modified for this competition, except for the Nitto Ridge Grappler tires that it was riding on. Inside the cabin, the SUV’s spacious interior, remote engine start system, power liftgate and front and rear seat heaters made the tough off-roading adventure more comfortable for the drivers. It was an exhausting 10-day marathon for the women, but one that was made that much more pleasant in the well-equipped Armada.

On behalf of our team here at Kirkland Nissan, we congratulate Team Wild Grace for the impressive finish! To learn more about the Armada’s off-road power, contact our team to schedule a test drive.
2018 nissan armada for sale in seattle washingtonLast week, the 2018 Rebelle Rally kicked off in Lake Tahoe, California, as teams began the 10-day women's-only trek across California and Nevada to reach the finish line in San Diego. Over the course of the competition, drivers will traverse 1,500 miles of rough, punishing terrain in the off-road navigation rally race.

Team Wild Grace, led by Sedona Blinson and Leah Heffelfinger, are seeking victory behind the wheel of a 2018 Nissan Armada Platinum. The two met at the Overland Expo West five years ago and ran the 2017 Rebelle Rally with a Nissan Frontier PRO-X. While both agreed that the Frontier’s smaller size was perfect for the diverse terrain in last year’s race, they are particularly eager to pilot the Armada, which prioritizes both comfort and capability. The SUV also traces its roots back to the Nissan Patrol and is known as the “King of the Desert”, which is ideal given the terrain of this rally.

Blinson and Heffelfinger’s 2018 Armada Platinum is fully stock except for the Nitto Ridge Grappler tires that it is riding on, which are designed for gripping sand and hauling through the desert. The vehicle is also wrapped in a custom-designed skin by IF Signs. Over the course of the rally, the two will spend up to 13 hours in the Armada, relying on rudimentary maps, compasses and digital cameras to find their way across some of North America’s most challenging and scenic territory.

Will they be victorious? Team Wild Grace is certainly equipped with the best vehicle for the job! To learn more about the Armada’s off-road potency, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington, to go for a test drive.

Safety now proves standard for the sport utility market - with Nissan fusing its entire Armada fleet (the SV, SL, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve) with Automatic Emergency Braking. This system will redefine driver security, delivering both automated responses and peace of mind.

According to The Drive, the 2019 Armada has been fused with advanced protection. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) releases radar signals across the roadway - generating precise 3D maps of the surrounding area. Through this, it can instantly identify sudden changes in both traffic patterns or the terrain (such as approaching pedestrians). Sensors immediately send this data to the center console, determining which of the two available strategies to use if a collision proves likely:

Audio and visual warnings are streamed through the eight-inch touchscreen - immediately alerting drivers to the potential danger and allowing them to decelerate.

Should no action be taken by the operator, the Armada's AEB system will instead engage the brakes itself - decreasing speed and controlling the steering column. This will help to mitigate a crash.

Through the standardization of Automatic Emergency Braking Nissan allows families to more securely explore the Lynnwood streets - bolstering every mile with seamless radar support.

To learn more about this safety system contact our dealership today.

It’s a stop-and-go world. Around you cars push forward, slam to a halt, and hurry to repeat the pattern - with their drivers anxious to escape the highway. You find yourself surrounded by fickle speeds and frantic trajectories; and worry settles deep within your bones. How will you maneuver through this madness?

We suggest relying on the 2019 Armada Platinum’s Intelligent Cruise Control system.

As The Drive explains, the new Armada is ready for even the wildest traffic patterns. Bolstering its chassis is Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) technology. This system delivers superior acceleration - with radar sensors mounted along the front bumper. These yield real-time scans, instantly mapping both forward traffic speeds and road conditions (including inclines, curves, and lane deviations). This information is then fed into a brake actuator, which assesses all data and creates viable response strategies:

If the following distance between the Armada and the preceding vehicle is considered too dangerous, acceleration will be slowed to assure further inches.

If the vehicle ahead comes to a sudden stop, the brakes will automatically engage to allow for a smooth stall.

If a change in terrain is detected, a gentle deceleration will be applied - with the steering column and ABS functions both activated to mitigate sudden rolls.

Through these responses, the ICC system allows the Armada Platinum to adapt to every moment - bringing true confidence to the Bellevue market.

An SUV is stuffed with boxes, bags, and luggage bursting at the seams; and still more items sit in your driveway, waiting to be loaded.
