You’re clocking down the freeway at a nice clip when, all of a sudden, you are stopped in your tracks by a sea of red lights. You manage to avoid a collision, but your nerves are shot and your heart is in your throat. As you think back to what happened, you feel lucky that you were so quick to react by slamming on your brakes. Hopefully, the next time this occurs, you’ll act just as fast.Â
New for this model year, every Pathfinder SUV comes standard with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). You may have heard of this technology before since it’s offered as an advanced safety system on a handful of other Nissan models.
Â
It works by using radar technology to monitor the Pathfinder’s proximity to the vehicle ahead, providing an audible and visual display warning to help you reduce your vehicle’s speed if a potential frontal collision is detected. If you fail to respond, the AEB system will jump into action by applying pressure to the brakes so that you can avoid the collision altogether, or at least limit the speed of impact.

Safety isn’t just an accessory on the 2018 Pathfinder – it’s standard. To learn more about its collision prevention and mitigation features, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington for a test drive.
