According to an article from Inside EVs, the Sylphy Zero Emission vehicle is now available for order in China through Nissan’s joint venture subsidiary, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company.Â
The Sylphy Zero Emission first debuted at the Auto China 2018 show and is Nissan’s first mass-production electric vehicle designed and produced specifically for the Chinese marketplace. It is built on the same platform as the world’s best-selling electric car – the Leaf – and shares many of the same core technologies, including a fully electric powertrain.

But where it differs is its styling – specifically the Sylphy’s full-size wheelbase, which offers greater stability and class-leading interior legroom, as well as multilayer ergonomic seating with heating options. A connectivity feature will also allow the Sylphy’s audio and video to be remote-controlled from a mobile phone.
Â
According to the article, the starting price for the Sylphy Zero Emission (after subsidies) is approximately 166,000 yuan ($25,000 USD). There is also no word if Nissan plans to extend the launch beyond China to include other global markets, such as North America, but that would certainly be exciting news if they did.
