For the second year in a row, Nissan has driven off with more best-in-category wins than any other brand in the AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA). Held annually, these honors are based on nation-wide survey results from over 58,000 owners of new 2017 and 2018 cars and light trucks. This year, the Murano, Maxima and Titan were all repeat winners, with the Leaf and 370Z joining them on the podium for the first time.
Â
According to AutoPacific president George Peterson, “the VSAs provide consumers with insight into which vehicles are giving owners a satisfying ownership experience.†The awards objectively measure owner satisfaction with 40 separate attributes ranging from seating comfort and interior quality to driving performance.Â
Â
The Murano, which has earned category awards four years in a row, was recognized for its unique styling cues, including a floating roof design, large windows, Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seating, as well as an oversized panoramic roof, while the Maxima and Titan were both honored for their on-road prowess – specifically the sedan’s 3.5-liter V6 engine and the pickup’s 5.6-liter Endurance V8 variant.
As for the newcomers, the Leaf was noted for its zero emissions performance and remarkable EPA range of 151 miles, along with its innovative driver assist technologies, including e-Pedal and ProPILOT Assist. The VSAs also gave top marks to the 370Z for its unforgettable styling and mighty 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with 332 horsepower.
