This year’s Dubai International Motor Show offered car enthusiasts in the Middle East the opportunity to witness the future of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility initiative. Two of the all-electric wonder cars on display were the 2018 LEAF and the prototype BladeGlider.
Nissan Intelligent Mobility is set to make the world safer and more efficient through self-driving technology and all-electric design, and the next-generation 2018 LEAF represents the initiative perfectly. Unveiled for the first time in the Middle East, the vehicle has been selected as the Official Automotive Partner for Expo 2020 Dubai and has been branded accordingly. When it releases early next year in Seattle and elsewhere, the car will come packed with an engine capable of 147 horses and 236-lb.-ft. of torque.
Alongside the LEAF was the futuristic BladeGlider. While only a prototype, it exists to provide the public with an idea of where Nissan Intelligent Mobility is going in the future, whether you live in Seattle, Dubai, or elsewhere. Donning a sports car design, the fascinating vehicle merges an exhilarating open-top structure with the safety of a coupe. Early models have been powered by a five-module lithium-ion battery rated at 220kW.
