When disaster strikes, it takes a special person or organization to respond – one that is brave, resourceful, and ready to act no matter what obstacles might be in the way. These qualities epitomize the Titan and many key organizations that touch the lives of people across the United States. When Nissan and the American Red Cross came together to collaborate on a mobile command center, the union was a perfect fit.
Â
Earlier this month, the two organizations unveiled the Ultimate Service Titan, which is designed as a first aid mobile unit that is armed with supplies ready to conquer the elements in a disaster.Â
Â
The truck’s base is a Titan XD Diesel Midnight Edition Crew Cab with its standard bed removed and replaced with a B&S Customizing Lightweight Bed Box. Additional body armor was also added to protect the truck from terrain that could damage other passenger vehicles.
Â
Inside, the temperature-controlled unit is outfitted with a desk, solar power generator, built-in Wi-Fi, and a rest area in a pop-up roof tent. Crews can prepare meals between shifts using the truck’s microwave, sink, and stove, while the furniture can be reconfigured into a blood donation or first aid center if needed. A refrigerator is also on hand to keep food, medicine, or blood at an ideal temperature.
Â
Since its unveiling, the Ultimate Service Titan has relocated to South Florida where it will be utilized to assist first responders during critical times of need.
