Chilly temperatures and pouring rain didnâ€™t dampen the 2018 Nissan Kicks at the 26th annual Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo. Rather, the newly launched vehicle rose to the occasion and drove off with not one, but two awards: â€œCompact CUV of Texas" and "Best Value."

"Making its debut appearance at the Texas Truck Rodeo, we are thrilled to have the all-new Nissan Kicks named 'Best Value' and 'Compact CUV of Texas' â€“ a category loaded with competition," said Dan Mohnke, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing & Operations, Nissan Division U.S. in a press release. "With its dramatic styling, personal technology, intelligent safety, efficient powertrain and strong value positioning, Kicks is a natural choice in the great state of Texas."

Unveiled earlier this spring, the 2018 Kicks has become a customer favorite with its practicality, fuel efficiency and cool styling. It is offered in three well-equipped grades (S, SV and SR) and boasts a 125-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood, which makes 115 lb-ft of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drivetrain is standard and boasts an EPA-rating of 33 mpg combined.
