Earlier this week, Nissan unveiled its latest concept truck called the Frontier Sentinel at the 2018 São Paulo Motor Show. Designed by the automaker’s Brazilian styling studio, the truck is being re-imagined as a next-decade rescue truck well-suited to all types of punishing terrain.
Â
Under its rugged body, the Frontier Sentinel is equipped with Nissan Leaf battery packs, which can deliver auxiliary power in dark conditions, whether deep in the jungle or the mountains at night. There is also a custom cargo bed that features drawers for rescue gear, like ropes, axes, flashlights and toolboxes, as well as a deployable platform that a search drone can take off and land on.
Â
On the exterior, the truck features a colorful design that was inspired by a South American parrot species, known as the hyacinth macaw. Knobby tires and bulky wheels also add to its aggressive looks. For deep water crossings, the Frontier Sentinel boasts a snorkel and a specialty lighting system on top of the windshield. Inside the cabin, the truck features a vibrant yellow dashboard, seat trim, stitching and a central console, which were inspired by electric circuits.

In the face of disaster, the Frontier Sentinel is ready to spring into action! To learn more about this latest concept truck or to test drive a new Frontier, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington, to discuss.
