Nissan has announced that the initial batch of 2018 Kicks has come out of their Rio de Janeiro industrial complex and are now being transported to neighboring Argentina. The 933 units mark some of the first shipping anywhere in the world. They begin wider global production ahead of the modelâ€™s introduction to Seattle and North America showrooms in June of next year.â€¨â€¨

The Kicks is a fantastic new compact crossover set to shake up the market. It comes packed with a 1.6L four-cylinder motor offering 125 horses and 115-lb.-ft. of torque. The efficiency of the engine is astoundingâ€”the EPA estimates youâ€™ll receive an unbelievable 33 miles per gallon combined. And the Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) is smoother than any automatic youâ€™ve ever driven.â€¨â€¨

The exterior has a lot going for it, too. The now customary V-Motion Nissan grille is used to striking effect, while the headlamps are elongated and boomerang-shaped. This provides a thrilling look. LED technology is available both on the front and rear lights. Additionally, the inclusion of the eye-popping floating roof means there are a total of seven body colors and five two-tone designs offered.
