The Sentra continues to be one of Nissan's top sellers and most recognized nameplates. It's a mainstay in the compact sedan segment spanning more than 35 years and seven generations. And, now, the 2018 Sentra is back, but with a number of enhancements designed to up its already strong consumer appeal, including a host of new safety technologies.
Â
This includes Automatic Emergency Braking, which is now standard on all 2018 Sentra models equipped with Xtronic transmission. AEB uses radar technology to monitor a vehicle's proximity to traffic up ahead, providing audible and visual display warnings to help a driver reduce the car's speed if a potential frontal collision is detected. If the driver fails to respond, the AEB system can apply the brakes, helping to avoid the accident or reduce the speed of impact, if it is unavoidable.Â
Â
Â
In addition to AEB, the Sentra also comes equipped with standard safety and security features, including the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS). This provides drivers and passengers alike with a host of airbags and rollover sensors for extra front, side and head protection in the event of a crash. The compact sedan is also engineered with Zone Body construction, which absorbs impact energy, thus protecting the vehicle's occupants.Â
