The view proves obscure - a collection of awkward headrest angles and sloping C-Pillars, the tall stacks of cargo. You twist in your seat, trying to find a sliver of daylight between the cabin chaos; but every window is blocked. There’s no way to gauge distance or lane position. You’re… stuck.
Nissan sympathizes. More importantly, however, it also offers a solution - pairing its 2018 Armada Platinum with I-RVM technology.
According to a press release, the 2018 Armada Platinum has been tailored for efficiency. Anchoring its cabin is an Intelligent Rear View Mirror (I-RVM) that promises 360-degree clarity. Utilizing both a high-resolution camera and LCD pixels, this system can quickly illuminate every position - showcasing any potential obstacles, including: passing cars, pedestrians, or parking garage poles. Real-time feeds are sent to a central monitor, enabling drivers to quickly assess the road; and audio cues are released if threats are sensed.
To further enhance visibility, Nissan also pairs the 2018 Armada Platinum with an I-RVM inspired design. The rear headrests have been lowered to create a seamless sight-line, while cargo can now be stored more efficiently in the bay (thanks to the inclusion of flat-folding seats and custom containers). The lift-gate glass has also been expanded to provide a larger range of vision, ensuring that drivers can easily monitor their surroundings.
