<img src="https://oconnorchrysler.com/images/upload/November_2021/Competitor_Comparisons/2021_Dodge_Charger_Engines_VsCadillacATS.png"alt="5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine for the 2021 Dodge Charger R/T”/>When it comes to sporty sedans with plenty of power, no one does it quite like Dodge. Just take a look at the impressive engine lineup for the 2021 Charger models. Compared to luxury competitors such as the Cadillac ATS, it outshines every other vehicle in its class.

The Cadillac ATS is usually moved by a turbocharged four-cylinder motor that makes 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. However, the Premium Luxury and Premium Performance trims use a 3.6-litre V6 that pushes out 335 hp and 285 lb-ft of torque.

Meanwhile, the Dodge Charger can be fitted with five different motors. The first is Canada’s favourite 3.6-litre V6 from Pentastar. Delivering 300 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque, it’s a great option for daily driving. The next unit is the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 paired with the R/T trim. It generates 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. If you decide on the Scat Pack 392, it will feature a 392 HEMI V8 that pumps out 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the SRT Hellcat comes with a 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 that makes 717 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, and the Redeye churns out 797 hp and 707 lb-ft.
