However, the latest lineup of Dodge Durangos is in the all-star category. Compared to the 2022 Mazda CX-9, you can easily see which vehicle reigns supreme in terms of output.

First, the Mazda CX-9 uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor. Paired with AWD and a 6-speed automatic transmission, it produces 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. No other motor options are offered for this crossover.

On the other hand, the Dodge Durango is available with three powertrain options. The standard engine for the SXT, GT, and Citadel is the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6. Thanks to AWD and the 8-speed automatic transmission, it delivers 295 hp and 260lb-ft of torque. Next, the R/T and R/T Plus both house a larger 5.7-litre HEMI V8 that makes 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the magnanimous SRT 392 is fitted with a giant 6.4-litre HEMI V8 that churns out 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Every engine for the Durango offers a better performance that the one for the Mazda.
