Hi Robert,

I recently upgraded to a 2018 Nissan Titan and share it with my wife. Iâ€™m not quite sure how to set up the memory seat function. She's a lot smaller than me so it would help us a lot if you could explain this feature.

Hi, Paul!

Itâ€™s no fun having to readjust your 2018 Nissan Titanâ€™s settings each morning. Programming the memory seat function is easy, just follow the steps below.

First, manually adjust everything to the way you like it: this includes the mirrors as the memory seat feature will adjust these too. Next, push â€˜setâ€™ and then the number â€˜1â€™: these buttons are on the driverâ€™s door.

Now you should hear an audible sound and the â€˜1â€™ button will light up; this is how you know youâ€™ve set everything up correctly and it has been saved.

After this, all you have to do is press the â€˜1â€™ button and your seat and mirror settings will adjust automatically.

If your wife wants to set it up for herself, she needs to repeat the above steps but use the number â€˜2â€™ button instead of â€˜1â€™.

Congratulations on upgrading to the 2018 Nissan Maxima, itâ€™s a great vehicle. Pairing your phone to this car is a quick and painless process.

First, you need to hit the button on your steering wheel with a picture of someone talking. After this, you will hear audible instructions come through your carâ€™s speakers.

Push the same button again to skip these directions and then say â€œadd phoneâ€ out loud. After this, youâ€™ll see some on-screen instructions which will let you know your vehicle has recognized your command.

Now switch your phone's Bluetooth on and start searching for nearby devices; you should see â€˜MY MAXIMAâ€™ appear under this section: select it.

Finally, hit â€˜pairâ€™ on your phone and press â€˜yesâ€™ on your vehicle's screen. Then wait for your contacts etc. to upload to your carâ€™s computer, and thatâ€™s really all there is to it.

Transmission fluid is a slippery liquid which acts as a lubricant for all of the moving parts in your gearbox.

In an automatic car, this fluid also acts as a coolant and a viscous liquid which transmits power from the engine to the transmission.

How long you can go before changing your fluid varies depending on what car you drive. For some automatic vehicles, it could be required once the model hits 30,000 miles. However, the typical service interval for this procedure is between 60,000-100,000 miles.

One of the most common misconceptions about the 2019 Nissan LEAF is that itâ€™s slow. In fact, almost all regular electric vehicles should be quicker off the mark than a comparable gasoline car.

One of the biggest factors in determining a car's acceleration time is how much torque it has. Itâ€™s important to remember to understand why this model is so quick.

The 2019 LEAF churns out 236 lb.-ft of torque which helps it get to 30 mph in an impressive 3.1 seconds. More importantly, however, is how and when this power is produced.

Unlike vehicles with internal combustion engines, the motors in electric cars produce maximum torque and horsepower from zero rpm. So, when you put your foot down, all of theÂ grunt is available instantly and this is what makes the LEAF so quick.

Iâ€™m sorry to hear about the damage caused to your 2018 Nissan Sentra. To get straight to the point, you should always do something about a cracked windshield.

Windshields play a role in the structural integrity of vehicles, meaning they help to keep you protected. If yours is compromised, it may not do its job properly in the event of a collision. Apart from this, a crack or chip could impair your vision while driving.

Depending on their size, some cracks and chips can be repaired so you should take your Sentra to a company that specializes in this as soon as possible.

Your friend is absolutely correct that you will need to drive your 2018 Nissan Rogue with caution after replacing its tires.

Tires are comprised of multiple layers of rubber, steel, and fabric but itâ€™s the top coating which can cause problems.

As tires are being cured, a release lubricant is applied to the rubber which stops it from sticking to the mold. This makes the top layer extremely slippery until it wears away, especially when driving in the rain.

When it comes to braking, turning, and accelerating try to keep yourÂ actions smooth and gentle. This will allow the top layer of lubricant to wear away without causing you to lose traction.

The recommended break-in period for new tires is around 500 miles; check your carâ€™s odometer after you get it back from the garage and use it as a gauge.

Hi, Mark!

'Bedding in' is something you can do to get the most out of a new set of brake pads. If you want as much stopping power as possible from your 2017 Nissan Titan XD,Â then it's an essential process.

The procedure transfers a thin layer of material from the outside of your pads to the vehicle's rotors. Doing this actually makes your brakes last longer and perform better by generating more friction.

The process comprises of acceleration and rapid deceleration, so you need to pick a safe location to do it.

Firstly, you should accelerate up to around 45 mph and then bring your Titan XD to a halt using medium-to-soft braking force. You need to repeat this three to four times.

Next, slow your truck down from 60 mph to 15 mph using aggressive braking force. Repeat this eight to ten times before letting the vehicle sit for a few minutes: your rotors and pads will need a chance to cool down.

Hi, Amanda!

This may or may not be a problem for your 2018 Nissan Maxima depending on what fluid is coming out of your exhaust.

More often than not, when you see fluid coming out of a vehicleâ€™s pipe, itâ€™s water. This is caused by condensation which has formed inside the exhaust system and is usually accompanied by thin white smoke: this is nothing to worry about.

If your car has been warmed up and running for a while but thick white smoke and water are coming out of the exhaust, it could be a more serious issue; this may indicate that you have a blown head gasket or a cracked engine block.

The fluid coming out of your exhaust could be gasoline, and this wouldÂ indicate that thereâ€™s an incomplete burn in the combustion chamber. Essentially, the fuel/air mixture is not igniting properly and the excess is coming out of your pipe.

If you're experiencing the second or third issue listed above, you should call into our Service Department and let the Technicians have a look.

Hi, Andrew!

If you have worn out spark plugs in your 2018 Nissan Sentra, they could cause a rough idle - Iâ€™ll explain why.

Spark plugs ignite the air and fuel mixture in your vehicleâ€™s cylinders. When they are working properly, the combustion rate is constant and that keeps your carâ€™s idle steady.

Once your plugs deteriorate, they canâ€™t ignite the gas and air as efficiently or consistently. So, when this mixture combusts, it will cause your Sentra's idle to rise and fall.

Unfortunately, a rough idle can be caused by lots of different problems: a broken vacuum hose or a clogged filter could also produce this issue. There is really no way for me to give an accurate assessment of your vehicle without inspecting it.

My advice is to call into our Service Department and let the Technicians have a look at your car.

Itâ€™s great to hear about your new job, but youâ€™re right to be cautious about leaving your 2018 Nissan Rogue exposed to direct sunlight.

Ultraviolet radiation combined with extreme heat wreaks havoc on dashboards around the world. Over time this will cause the materials to split and crack, so watch out for it.Â

Your carâ€™s paintwork and exterior plastic parts will also fade at an increasedÂ rate when exposed to excessive sunlight. This is especially true if your vehicle is a dark color like black, blue, or red.

Another thing which suffers in severe heat is your Rogueâ€™s upholstery. Nice leather seats can quickly age under direct sunlight as their natural oils dry out; this will cause them to stiffen and crack.

Bearing what Iâ€™ve said in mind, it is always best to try to park your car in a shaded spot.
