Earlier this week, Nissan announced that the Frontier pickup model line will continue for at least one more year. This fabulous vehicle, which has been on the market for 14 years already, will remain for sale. There will be some changes for the 2019 model, but you can expect the same amazing power and great features that you’ve grown accustomed to in previous versions of the truck.
You may not know it, but Nissan has quite the storied history. All the way back in 1914, a Japanese company called Kaishinsha Motorcar Works released a new vehicle called the DAT. This was an acronym of the last names of the owners (Kenjiro Den, Rokuro Aoyama, and Meitaro Takeuchi).

As the result of a gradual merger between multiple companies, Nissan started in 1914 in Japan. Kenjiro Den, Rokuro Aoyama and Meitaro Takeuchi of Kaishinsha Motorcar Works decided to build a car. Calling this new vehicle DAT, an acronym of their surnames, they were quite pleased with their invention. The engine only produced 10 horsepower, but it paved the road for the next 100 years of innovative automobiles.
