If you’ve had a soft spot in your heart for the Xterra and haven’t gotten over the fact that the nameplate was discontinued in 2015, then you’ll be happy to know that a comeback is possible. Nissan’s growing lineup of crossovers and SUVs may once again be home to the Xterra.Â
Â
The Xterra previously shared its mechanicals with the Nissan Frontier pickup truck, which is due for a redesign in the very near future. And while industry insiders don’t know much about the Frontier’s specs and details, they are wishful that it will also set the stage to welcome back to Xterra.
Â
Â
If the now-defunct SUV was to return, it would not only make Xterra loyalists extremely happy, but it would also shake up the already competitive SUV market, giving the Toyota 4Runner, Jeep Wrangler and impending Ford Bronco a run for their money.
Â
With the new Nissan Frontier pickup likely debuting in late 2018, prior to its 2019 production, expect to hear more rumblings about the potential return of the Xterra in the New Year.
Until then, stop by our dealership in Seattle, Washington to experience our huge selection of Nissan SUVs, including Armada, Juke, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue and Rogue Sport models.Â
