Have you ever been in a situation where the cargo area of your vehicle was so full that you couldn’t see out your rearview mirror or back window? It’s nerve-wracking – especially if you need to reverse out of a parking space or keep tabs on vehicles behind you while driving.
Â
That problem is now a thing of the past with the 2018 Armada. It’s the first Nissan vehicle to offer the all-new Intelligent Rearview Mirror (I-RVM), which acts as a second set of eyes when your line of sight is obstructed.Â
Â
According to Nissan, the I-RVM looks the same as a traditional rearview mirror, but with a built-in LCD monitor that is activated with the push of a button. When the intelligent mirror is turned on, the monitor provides an expanded field of view from the high-performance, narrow-angle camera, which is located at the rear of the vehicle. Even in low-light conditions, the I-RVM helps drivers feel more confident while maneuvering in busy parking lots or in traffic. Best of all, the mirror can be activated while driving.

Neat, right? This technology is especially ideal for Seattle area drivers who regularly carry oversized cargo or transport taller passengers.Â
