The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has released the findings from their latest passenger-side small overlap front tests for trucks. In their report, the organization claims that most pickups struggled to maintain their structures during the evaluation. However, there was one shining star – the 2019 Nissan Titan.
Out of the 11 trucks evaluated, the Titan managed to receive a Good rating for both the passenger- and driver-side overall tests, which is the highest grade possible. The pickup specifically scored well in the areas of restraint and kinematics, head and neck, chest, hip and thigh, lower leg and foot. The truck also earned an Acceptable rating for structure.
When you choose the Nissan Titan, you can drive with peace of mind knowing that the truck is well-equipped with standard safety equipment right at the base level. All models boast six airbags, anti-lock disc brakes, brake assist, as well a tire pressure monitoring and electronic stability control. As you climb the trim levels, you’ll benefit from driver assist features, such as blind spot warning and trailer sway control, plus high-tech inclusions, like front and rear sonar parking sensors with surround view.
