“Overlanding†is outdoor adventuring experienced by individuals willing to endure harsh conditions and traverse extreme terrains. Typically, all such attempts at previous overlanding were accomplished with super expensive, modified trucks and SUVs—however, Nissan felt they could do better. They got to work, and the result of their efforts has led to the “Destination Frontier,†a one-off truck design that was created for only $40,000.
The designers at Nissan started with a 2019 Frontier Crew Cab SV 4x4 Midnight Edition as a base and then modified accordingly. Changes include the addition of Nitto Trail Grappler off-road tires, American Racing AX201 wheels, a 3-inch Nisstec lift kit, and body/drivetrain protection, among other tweaks.
A little information on that standard 2019 Nissan Frontier that the Destination is based upon (and that can actually be experienced at dealerships nationwide): It comes with a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that pushes out 261 horses and 281 lb-ft of torque. It can also tow up to 6,720 pounds.
