buy a Nissan Frontier in KirklandKirkland, let’s talk about “overlanding.”

“Overlanding” is outdoor adventuring experienced by individuals willing to endure harsh conditions and traverse extreme terrains. Typically, all such attempts at previous
overlanding were accomplished with super expensive, modified trucks and SUVs—however, Nissan felt they could do better. They got to work, and the result of their efforts has led to the “Destination Frontier,” a one-off truck design that was created for only $40,000.

The designers at Nissan started with a 2019 Frontier Crew Cab SV 4x4 Midnight Edition as a base and then modified accordingly. Changes include the addition of Nitto Trail Grappler off-road tires, American Racing AX201 wheels, a 3-inch Nisstec lift kit, and body/drivetrain protection, among other tweaks.

A little information on that standard 2019 Nissan Frontier that the Destination is based upon (and that can actually be experienced at dealerships nationwide): It comes with a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that pushes out 261 horses and 281 lb-ft of torque. It can also tow up to 6,720 pounds.

Traditionally, it’s solely been the domain of uber-expensive modified SUVs and trucks… but no longer. Nissan’s “Destination Frontier” one-off truck is ridiculously capable for these situations—and was created for only approximately $40,000.

The Nissan crew began with the 2019 Frontier Crew Cab SV 4x4 Midnight Edition as a base and went from there. Modifications include body/drivetrain protection for off-roading and associated obstacles; improved ground clearance; a 3-inch Nisstec lift kit; and Nitto Trail Grappler off-road tires with American Racing AX201 wheels, among other tweaks.

In its unmodified base form, the 2019 Nissan Frontier offers a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that cranks out 261 horses and 281 lb-ft of torque. With it, the Frontier can tow up to 6,720 pounds.

The amazing Nissan Destination Frontier will be displayed at the 2019 Overland Expo West on May 17 - 19 at Ft. Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. Call us to learn more today!
2019 nissan frontier dealer in renton bellevue seattle washingtonAccording to The Drive, a new Nissan Frontier is on its way. The online news outlet spoke with Fred DePerez, Vice President of Nissan North America LCV Business Group, at a Titan event in Jackson Hole and he was quoted as saying that a new Frontier is "well underway" and that consumers “won't be disappointed with it."

This is the first confirmation to surface of a new Frontier pickup. As a key component of Nissan’s strategy, the truck is a mid-size platform that acts as a gateway to the brand. While many drivers find the Frontier’s specs to be well-suited to their needs, others may opt to upgrade to a larger Titan for its best-in-class standard horsepower and 5 year/100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Last year, Nissan sold 79,646 Frontiers across the United States, which certainly confirms the truck’s popularity with fans, even if the platform hasn’t seen a redesign since 2004. However, not one to rest on their laurels, this sounds like a great opportunity for Nissan to enhance its mid-size offering to further bolster sales for the Frontier, but other Nissan trucks too, like the Titan.

As more details are released, we’ll share the news right here on our blog. In the meantime, if you’d like to check out the 2019 Frontier for yourself, our team at Kirkland Nissan would be happy to arrange a test drive at our dealership in Seattle, Washington.
