Itâ€™s not a dream or a sci-fi plot, but rather the future of automotive technology. This week, Nissan is set to showcase its Brain-to-Vehicle (or B2V) technology at CES 2018 in Las Vegas, where the automaker will demonstrate new research that will one day allow vehicles to interpret signals from a driverâ€™s brain.Â

B2V is also the latest development in Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which is the companyâ€™s vision for transforming how cars are driven, powered and integrated into society. The research is cutting-edge and wildly innovative by taking a deeper look into brain decoding technology as a way to predict a driverâ€™s actions, like turning the steering wheel or pressing on the accelerator. It can also detect discomfort and change the driving configuration or style when in autonomous mode.

But, B2V doesnâ€™t end there. Nissan also claims that the technology is capable of augmenting reality by adjusting a vehicleâ€™s internal environment so that itâ€™s more peaceful and relaxing. For Seattle area commuters, imagine being able to change your daily view of gridlock and brake lights into something beautiful, like a grassy meadow or white sand beach with turquoise waters. It seems unbelievable or something only possible on the big screen. But, with Nissan pioneering B2V, the future of driving is now.
