If you are in the market for a powerful diesel with unmatched towing strength, then you need to turn your attention to the 2022 Ram 1500 lineup. Compared to the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, it outperforms every time in terms of hauling capability.
Â
The available 3.0-litre EcoDiesel Inline-6 engine can be fitted on the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trim levels. Pumping out 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, it is paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing limit is capped at 5,696 kg (12,560 lbs) on the truck with the 4x2 drivetrain. Meanwhile, the 4x4 version can manage an attachment weighing up to 4,472 kg (9,860 lbs) with ease.
Â
On the other hand, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 can be equipped with the 3.0-litre TurboDiesel Inline-6 motor. Delivering only 460 lb-ft of torque, this truck has a hauling limit set at 4,309 kg (9,500 lbs) - which will leave BC drivers struggling to accommodate their cargo.
