Compared to the 2022 Ford F-150, it delivers more power when you need it the most. Plus, you can snatch up one of these trucks at O’Connor Chrysler in BC today!

Rumbling under the hood of the new Ram is a 3.6-litre V6 designed by Pentastar. As Canada’s most popular motor, it is coupled with eTorque mild hybrid technology to generate 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque (with 90 lb-ft of additional launch torque also offered to enhance performance). Mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it can tow up to 3,496 kg (7,710 lbs) effortlessly.

Meanwhile, the new Ford F-150 uses a meek 3.3-litre V6 that produces 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, it can pull up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs) which proves considerably less than the Ram. Its overall output and capabilities are weaker, making it less useful for the work-site.

Compared to the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, it outperforms every time in terms of hauling capability.

The available 3.0-litre EcoDiesel Inline-6 engine can be fitted on the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trim levels. Pumping out 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, it is paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing limit is capped at 5,696 kg (12,560 lbs) on the truck with the 4x2 drivetrain. Meanwhile, the 4x4 version can manage an attachment weighing up to 4,472 kg (9,860 lbs) with ease.

On the other hand, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 can be equipped with the 3.0-litre TurboDiesel Inline-6 motor. Delivering only 460 lb-ft of torque, this truck has a hauling limit set at 4,309 kg (9,500 lbs) - which will leave BC drivers struggling to accommodate their cargo.
