Most Common Nissan Vehicle Questions In Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
Robert,

I dig the look of the 2018 Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve. I was hoping you could clarify what the various specs of the machine are for me? I may be looking to make a purchase in the near future.

Thanks, Charles

Charles,

Thanks for your question! Here’s the deal on the 2018 Titan XD Platinum Reserve: It’s fast, powerful, and filled with smart systems that greatly bolster safety. It starts with the engine—the truck comes with a 5.6L Endurance V8 that creates 390 HP at 5,800 RPM (revolutions per minute) and 394 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4,000 RPM. This enables a sporty feel with brisk acceleration, creating a pickup with mighty muscle that is also enjoyable to drive on a day-to-day basis.

The 2018 Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve is more than just a powerful motor, though. It comes with a myriad of safety features, including NissanConnect. This is notable because it’s an intelligent system that steps in on your behalf in the event of a crash. If you are involved in a collision, the technology will automatically get in touch with an emergency response specialist.

Robert,

My 2011 Nissan Titan has been giving me some serious trouble lately and I’m having issues steering it—it feels stiff and unwieldy. Any thoughts as to the problem?

Appreciate it, Decker

Decker,

Steering issues with vehicles that are starting to get a little “long in the tooth” are not exactly uncommon. Here are a couple of the most likely culprits behind the stiff steering in your 2011 Nissan Titan:

  1. A lack of steering system fluid. Your 2011 Nissan Titan may simply lack the necessary amount of steering fluid—if the levels drop too much, your wheel is going to be effectively fighting you every time you take your pickup out on the road. Lowered steering solution is often a result of a leak in the pressurized hose area or a loosening of that hose that in turn drops the pressure and reduces the power supply.
  2. The steering system fluid in your Titan is too thick. If this is the case, it’s a quality issue, not a quantity problem. Built-up dirt and debris in the fluid may be the issue, requiring the system to be flushed.

I’ve heard tell of the phenomenon but I don’t quite think I have a grasp of it: What are evaporative leaks?

Thanks, Stewart

Stewart,

Thanks for your question! Evaporative leaks, whether on a Nissan vehicle like the Titan,
Armada, or something else entirely, refer to a fuel expansion. This can occur in the tank of an automobile when it is acted upon by outside forces—most typically external temperatures. Granted, modern machines come with a venting system that is designed to mitigate this problem and drastically reduce any resulting pollution that would otherwise leak out into the environment. However, it is important to note that, like with any technology, this system can fail and an evaporative leak can occur.

Bear in mind, however, that one of the most common causes of an evaporative leak is a damaged or loose gas cap. Of course, these can be easily replaced for just a few dollars.
