nissan leaf for sale in seattle wa2018 has been a big year for Nissan. Just in the last month, accolades and awards have been rolling in for the automaker, highlighting excellence in all areas of their product line-up. The Nissan Xmotion concept car recently drove off with a 2018 EyesOn Award, while the Leaf EV took high honors in the electric car category of What Car? Car of the Year Awards. And now, Nissan is gearing up once again for another win; the Leaf was just named a finalist in the World Car of the Year Awards!

Representing the electric vehicle category, the Nissan Leaf is up against three other models: the BMW 530e iPerformance, Chevrolet Cruze Diesel, and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. A panel of 82 automotive journalists will evaluate the vehicles and the field of finalists will be narrowed down even further at the Geneva Motor Show. The winner for the World Car of the Year Awards will be officially announced at the New York Auto Show on March 28, 2018.

At Kirkland Nissan, we are expecting our Leaf EV to come out on top, especially since the next-gen model brings new enhancements and innovations to the masses. This includes Nissan's all-new ProPilot Assist technology, which is the future of semi-autonomous driving. The 2018 model also boasts an increased range of up to 150 miles, which is considered a huge gain in the plug-in electric world.

And, the Leaf is no stranger to this award. The EV took home the win back in 2011 and we are confident that it can do it again.

Are you excited for the winners to be announced? We are too! Stay tuned; we hope to deliver news of the Leaf's victory later this spring!
2018 nissan leaf for sale in seattle washingtonThe all-new next-gen Nissan Leaf isn't available for purchase at our dealership in Seattle, Washington, but that hasn't stopped the world's most popular EV from raking in the hardware from across the pond. Most recently, the 2018 Leaf was named the "Best Electric Car" in the What Car? Car of the Year Awards, which is one of the UK's biggest car-buying media brands, widely regarded as a trusted source for new car advice.

Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car?, praised the award-winning model for its year-round range and performance. "The electric car market has never been more competitive, yet the Leaf saw off all its rivals because it makes the most sense to most buyers," he said in a statement. "It combines excellent performance with generous standard equipment and low running costs. And even in winter weather, its real-world range is good."

This is thanks to a host of new innovations found on the 2018 Leaf, which allow the EV to drive farther, better and smarter than ever before. This includes available ProPilot Assist, which helps motorists navigate stop-and-go traffic by assisting control of acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane highway driving. The 2018 Leaf also delivers an increased range of up to 150 miles and incorporates standard Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and e-Pedal technology.

When the all-new Leaf descends upon our dealership, it will signal the future of transportation in Seattle, Washington. To pre-book your test drive, contact us today or browse our online inventory to see many other great in-stock models.
The folks over at Nissan have been up to a little fun. This week, they unveiled how their semi-autonomous ProPilot Assist technology isn't just for cars.

Set in a traditional Japanese inn known as a ryokan, the automaker previewed self-parking slippers, tables and floor cushions much to the surprise of the hotel's visitors. As you can see in the video below, when these items are not in use, they automatically return to their designated spots with the push of the button. This is similar to how Nissan's ProPilot Assist is capable of using the steering, brakes, and throttle to maneuver a vehicle into a space without the brain power or physical input of a driver.

This isn't the first time that Nissan has applied their technology to inanimate objects. Just last year, they innovated an autonomous chair to help alleviate the strain of waiting in line. When the person at the front of the line stands up to be served, the now-vacant chair moves to the back of the line, so another person can sit down and wait in the queue. Imagine having these chairs at the DMV? Talk about a game-changer!

From automated slippers and pillows to self-parking vehicles, ProPilot Assist strives to take the tedium out of daily life. To experience this technology for yourself, contact us at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington, to schedule a test drive in a 2018 Rogue or Leaf all-electric vehicle.
It’s the highest of expectations - with critics tallying every pre-order, calculating potential sales and possible profits. The 2018 LEAF is revving toward Seattle; and behind it trails a long shadow, with the success of its predecessors looming. Can this platform continue the record-breaking pace Nissan has set within the EV market?

We think it can.

According to CNET, anticipation is mounting for the 2018 LEAF - with 13,000 units pre-ordered for the United States. This is an unprecedented number, with none of the previous Nissan platforms delivering such high interest; and critics believe that (when the hatchback arrives later this year) it will zip to the top of the charts.

The Kirkland team agrees. On January 1st we were thrilled to debut the 2018 LEAF to our customers - and the response was both immediate and enthusiastic. Drivers were thrilled by this platform’s innovative all-electric powertrain (which combines a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery with a 110-kW synchronous motor) and exclusive e-pedal system (which eliminates the traditional brake and accelerator design, blending them together instead for a single control unit). The promise of a 100% off-the-line torque experience left them amazed, with all 236 lb.-ft maximized for quick accelerations; while the 240-volt outlet yields charge times as low as one hour.

The 2018 LEAF is poised to dominate the Seattle market - and we can’t wait to see this platform purring down every street. To learn more contact us today.

Above the Nissan threshold once waited a neon sign - its border lined in red, its face angrily glowing. Across its insides read 300,000 and every zero blazed with fluorescent intensity. This was a milestone that none thought obtainable, a goal no one believed achievable; and each day the number flashed its disappointment.

That has (finally) changed.

According to Electrek, Nissan has just delivered its 300,000 LEAF to the market - making it the world’s best-selling EV platform! Strong responses in the United States and Japan have propelled this hatchback to the top of the charts; and no competitor (including Ford’s Fusion, Toyota’s Prius, or Chevrolet's Malibu Hybrid) has managed to secure such staggering month-to-month growth: with critics noting a jump from 1,457 units in November 2017 to 1,899 units in December 2017.

These numbers prove undeniably impressive - and, with the impending release of the 2018 LEAF, we expect Nissan to remain the leading EV brand. Anchored by a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery, this platform will yield 124 MPGe in the city and 101 MPGe on the highway. Its 150-mile all-electric range will prove perfect for daily commuters, sparing them frequent station visits; while its 147 HP powertrain will ensure peppy traveling. The next generation of performance is on its way.

We believe 300,000 will soon be replaced with 400,000 - with the LEAF leading the sales charge.

This week, the Nissan Leaf reached a major milestone. In just seven short years of production, the EV hit the 300,000 mark for global sales. Unsurprisingly, this news cements the Leaf’s position as the world’s best-selling electric vehicle and a favorite here on North American soil.

"These numbers prove that the Nissan Leaf remains the most advanced car in the world, with the widest reach and the greatest availability,” said Nissan’s Executive VP Daniele Schillaci in a company statement. “The new Nissan Leaf is the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility because it delivers an even more exciting drive and enhanced ownership experience. It will take Nissan's EV leadership even further."

Over the last seven years, sales for the Leaf have been incredibly strong, but we expect to see numbers climb even higher as EV enthusiasts eagerly await the next-gen model, which will feature an all-new range of 150 miles and an enhanced 40 kilowatt-hour battery pack. The 2018 Leaf will also come equipped with ProPILOT Assist, ProPILOT Park, and e-Pedal, offering drivers even more refinement, comfort and convenience when behind the wheel.

The time has come, Seattle! Soon Kirkland Nissan will open its doors - ushering in a new generation of all-electric performance. Join us as we unveil the 2018 LEAF.

For days we’ve been readying our lot - gathering door prizes, hanging banners, ensuring that every detail proves perfect. As the only dealership in the United States to feature the new LEAF, we wanted to set the stage for an event like no other; and now it’s time to turn on the spotlight. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. we’ll showcase Nissan’s latest (and greatest) EV platform. Watch as we pull back the curtain and reveal the true potential of lithium-ion power.

The 2018 LEAF promises a new era of performance. Bolstered by an advanced linear drivetrain, this platform offers an electric range of 150 miles. Its EMS7 motor generates a responsive 147 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque; while the 40-kWh lithium-ion battery offers smart-charging capabilities, requiring a mere 40 minutes to achieve an 80% burst of power. The nimble profile (defined by a 60.6-inch front track and a 61.2-inch rear, respectively) weaves between Seattle traffic with ease, utilizing its aerodynamic panels for a smooth 8-second 0 to 60 rev.

This zero-emission hatch will prove a welcome addition to the Washington highways - and we can’t wait to highlight its many features to our customers.

We’ll see you soon!

Washington rarely proves forgiving to hatchbacks - with its winding roads straining every steering system, undermining stability through rocky inclines and sudden turns. Drivers move shakily through every mile, struggling always to adapt to the constant changes.

Kirkland Nissan is pleased to announce a solution to this problem - with the 2018 LEAF delivering sterling handling on the highways and backroads alike.

Join us tomorrow as we unveil the 2018 LEAF to Seattle. This Nissan EV will redefine everyday travel, offering smooth transitions with each press of the e-pedal. Its 192-cell battery pack has been thoughtfully positioned within the center of the chassis, with its heft used to improve inertia and stabilize the drivetrain. The electric-power column has been precisely calibrated to control every responses; while the integration of logic-working software helps to identify the best position alignments (thereby improving cornering). A stiff torsion bar further enhances performance, reducing the chance of under-steerage.

Nissan adapts to the uncertainty of Washington roads, fusing its LEAF with rubber stops along the rear suspension. This helps to lessen the impact of potholes and other pavement flaws - ensuring a seamless cabin experience. Traveling will soon be far simpler.
