According to The Drive, a new Nissan Frontier is on its way. The online news outlet spoke with Fred DePerez, Vice President of Nissan North America LCV Business Group, at a Titan event in Jackson Hole and he was quoted as saying that a new Frontier is "well underway" and that consumers “won't be disappointed with it."
This is the first confirmation to surface of a new Frontier pickup. As a key component of Nissan’s strategy, the truck is a mid-size platform that acts as a gateway to the brand. While many drivers find the Frontier’s specs to be well-suited to their needs, others may opt to upgrade to a larger Titan for its best-in-class standard horsepower and 5 year/100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Last year, Nissan sold 79,646 Frontiers across the United States, which certainly confirms the truck’s popularity with fans, even if the platform hasn’t seen a redesign since 2004. However, not one to rest on their laurels, this sounds like a great opportunity for Nissan to enhance its mid-size offering to further bolster sales for the Frontier, but other Nissan trucks too, like the Titan.
As more details are released, we’ll share the news right here on our blog. In the meantime, if you’d like to check out the 2019 Frontier for yourself, our team at Kirkland Nissan would be happy to arrange a test drive at our dealership in Seattle, Washington.
