Itâ€™s the most wonderful time of the year in the automotive industry â€“ the North American Car and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) Awards are gearing up! And this year, we couldn't be more excited as three Nissan models were named as semi-finalists.

The NACTOY Awards are an annual honor that are chosen by the organizationâ€™s jury, which is made up of North American automotive journalists. Winners are selected for three main categories, including cars, trucks and SUVs. Semi-finalists were announced earlier in September and the big winners will be revealed next January in Detroit, Michigan.

But, first, the jury has an important job to do â€“ they have to take to the streets of Ypsilanti, Michigan, to put the semi-finalists to the test. Of those vehicles are three Nissan models, including the Altima, Leaf and the all-new Kicks. From these series of road tests, the jury will select the finalists, which will be announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of November.

Itâ€™s a great honor for Nissan to have three vehicles recognized as semi-finalists in the NACTOY Awards. With the Leafâ€™s and Altimaâ€™s full redesigns, as well as the launch of the Kicks crossover earlier this year, there is so much more to love about these models, especially their styling, feature sets and performance.Â

The Color Studio brings personalization to the compact crossover segment, allowing Kicks shoppers and owners the ability to modify 12 curated accessories from a selection of five colors â€“ vibrant whites, blacks, reds, oranges and blues.

Want to snazz up the exterior? Easy! You can swap out the color of the front lip finisher, the rear spoiler, front and rear door handle covers, the rear bumper accent, and more. If youâ€™d like for the interior to reflect your unique style, you can also customize the color of the rearview mirror cover, door sill protector, air vent rings, or floor mats. Cool, right? Nissan thinks so too.Â

"As an affordable compact crossover, Kicks is designed to fit the needs of singles or couples looking for style, personal technology, smart functionality and advanced safety features," said Mike Soutter, VP, Aftersales, Nissan North America, Inc., in a press release. "The Kicks Color Studio adds an affordable way to further personalize the new Kicks, giving buyers the choice of adding just a few or the complete package of factory-backed Color Studio accessories."
