Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
Each year, the editors at Autoblog evaluate the latest and greatest automotive advancements in an effort to bestow their highly coveted Technology of the Year Award. This honor is given to the one vehicle that best exemplifies progress and new ways of thinking about vehicle tech.

And much to our pleasure, the Nissan Rogue was named as a finalist for 2018. Autoblog recognized the best-selling crossover for its ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system.

The Rogue was in good company with the Lexus LC 500h and its new hybrid powertrain, as well as the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and its Multimatic spool-valve off-road shocks. The Lexus LC 500h eventually stole the top spot, earning the crown for the 2018 Technology of the Year Award, which was announced this week at the Detroit Auto Show.

Nissan’s ProPilot Assist is an all-new available technology on the 2018 Rogue SL trim as part of the Platinum Package. It provides assisted steering, braking, and accelerating during single-lane highway driving. ProPilot Assist is also paving the way for autonomous vehicles of the future by helping drivers stay centered in their lane, navigate stop-and-go traffic, maintain a set vehicle speed, and establish a safe distance to the vehicle ahead – all with the push of two simple buttons.

In the 2018 Rogue, the future of driving is here. To schedule your test drive in this chart-topping performer, contact us at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington.
The 2018 Nissan lineup is the strongest it’s ever been. And if you’re looking for a compact crossover with plenty of vim and vigor to go alongside some impressive technology, the Rogue is a hot ticket.

Engine specifications are fantastic for its class. The 2.5L four-cylinder engine can stand toe-to-toe with any competition in its segment, providing a healthy 170 HP and 175-lb.-ft. f torque. Part of this performance package is the transmission and it’s here that the Japanese automaker also shines. The Xtronic two-speed CVT works on your behalf to offer the absolutely smoothest driving experience possible, boasting a limitless range of gear ratios. And if you have any doubts over gas mileage, get rid of them—the 2018 Rogue receives 26 city / 33 highway MPG.

This SUV incorporates smart technology, too. One of 2018’s most impressive automotive systems, regardless of manufacturer, is ProPILOT Assist. Designed around your safety needs, it automatically controls acceleration, braking, and steering to semi-autonomously guide you securely to your destination. Even stop-and-go traffic jams don’t faze it. Impressive!

The 2018 Nissan Rogue SV is fresh on car lots around the country, bringing with it a wide array of new features that make many optional, expensive packages a thing of the past. Standard inclusions are all the rage on this SUV for this model year, and Seattle stands to benefit as a result.

Check out that exterior. On the front, you’ll notice a revised “V-Motion” grille with aggressive chrome and a larger, repositioned Nissan decal. Subtle tweaks, such as this, improve the appearance of the Rogue, but the SUV's functionality is where this vehicle really shines. Rear Cross Traffic Alert senses when cars approach as you are backing up, notifying you to brake as necessary. Blind Spot Warning is also standard this year, detecting in a similar fashion when an automobile comes up on your side. LED turn signals are now available, as well.

Now, imagine you’re heading off on a grocery run. As you cruise to the store, the now standard seven-inch touchscreen display lets you control vehicle settings and entertainment options along your way. It’s an upgrade over the outgoing five-inch monitor. Once you make it to your destination and grab the necessary items, a motion-activated liftgate enables swift bag stowing. This SUV is designed with your convenience in mind!

The 2018 Nissan Rogue is here and it’s set to ensure you get around Seattle, Renton, and Bellevue safely. The vehicle has a number of systems in place to protect you and your loved ones.

Intelligent cruise control senses the distance between
cars traveling ahead and adjusts your speed accordingly—no input from you necessary! Lane Departure Warning provides an audible alert whenever you begin to stray from your path. And the SL trim of the 2018 Rogue comes packed with Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. This reacts far quicker to objects that come into your area than you could unassisted, mitigating the potential for a crash.

The 2018 Rogue also comes with ProPILOT Assist. This is a powerful technology centered around your safety. It aids during single-lane highway cruising by taking over braking, acceleration, and steering, offering a semi-autonomous experience. It even handles stop-and-go situations. Truly, it’s the future of driving.

Stop by Kirkland Nissan to see the 2018 Rogue in action today!

During the evaluations, the 2018 Rogue earned “Good” scores across the board for its crashworthiness in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint and seat tests. In the mood for a fun 3D experience? Actually, a better question: down for a Star Wars interactive web extravaganza? Yup—we thought so! And that’s exactly what Nissan has delivered with their “Command Your Craft” offering.

Available on NissanUSA.com/StarWars, the experience is entirely gesture-based and lets players take control of The Last Jedi-inspired vehicles crafted directly by the Japanese manufacturer. Want to fight the bad guys? Represent as Poe Dameron and hop into a BB-8-loaded X-wing (the 2018 Rogue). Feeling a little mischievous, and, well, “evil” today? Embrace the Dark Side as Kylo Ren in his TIE Silencer (2018 Maxima). You can use your hands to raise, rotate, and summon on-screen cars.

The breakthrough Star Wars 3D experience utilizes Google’s TensorFlow. The software library is open-source and wields machine learning to recognize and categorize images. It’s cutting-edge, just in time for The Last Jedi, and perfect to use for representing cars like the 2018 Maxima. That vehicle offers suitably futuristic performance, providing 50-to-70 mph passing power in a class-leading 3.8 seconds (wow)! And when you need to make a quick stop, you can go from that top speed down to a standstill in only 178 feet.

Call us at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle at any time to discuss the “Command Your Craft” experience and/or the 2018 Rogue and Maxima!

The Rogue has long been known as one of Nissan’s top-selling U.S. vehicles for quite some time and now the crossover has another honor to add to its list of accolades. Just this week, it was announced that Consumer Guide Automotive has named the Nissan Rogue on its annual "Best Buy Award" list for 2018, earning the vehicle top marks in the Compact Crossover and Subcompact Crossover categories.

The Rogue was awarded this honor for its respectable fuel economy and refined interior materials. Consumer Guide Automotive hailed the vehicle for its classy interior trimmings and a host of desirable features at very competitive prices, as well as the ingeniously configured rear cargo area, which is versatile and functional in its design.

The timing of this award couldn’t be any better, especially since 2018 Rogue models are rolling into dealerships across the PNW. It is available in three gasoline engine-powered grade levels (S, SV and SL) and in either FWD or AWD. Pricing starts at an affordable MSRP of $24,680 for an S FWD and works its way up to $32,410 for the Rogue SL AWD.

If you regularly travel with kids or other passengers, the doors on your vehicle get a real work-out. Sometimes they are shut gently, but oftentimes they are slammed or closed with fervor as you rush out of your car to make it to a meeting or get inside the grocery store before they close for the night.

The doors on your vehicle take a lot of abuse, opening and closing 45,000 times over the course of a decade. That’s a lot of slamming!

And the engineers at Nissan? They understand this reality, which is why they enlisted help from an automated test device – a 1.5-ton durability robot, whose sole job is to test car door reliability at the Nissan Technical Center North America (NTCNA) in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The robot is named Rosie, but also goes by the nickname Mrs. Doorboto. In three days, she opens and closes a door as much as a typical customer does over the course of a decade, working around the clock with no breaks. And while Rosie works hard and for long hours, her robo-job is highly appreciated because it would be physically impossible (and mentally taxing) for a human tester to assess the durability of the door hinges, latch mechanisms, weatherstripping and window glass frames over a replicated ten-year period.

It’s certainly a tough job, but an important one, as it relates back to Nissan’s promise of quality, durability, and innovation. And to that, we say, "Domo arigato, Mrs. Doorboto."

One of the key enhancements that we’re really excited about is the addition of available ProPILOT Assist technology, which provides supported steering, braking and accelerating during single-lane highway driving. According to Nissan, this is the foundation of fully autonomous vehicles, helping drivers stay centered in the lane, navigate stop-and-go traffic, maintain a set vehicle speed and distance to the vehicle ahead – all with the push of a button.
