Whatâ€™s hotter than a Nissan Titan? How about a Smokinâ€™ Titan â€“ the automakerâ€™s latest concept vehicle to appear at the 2018 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Indiana. Described as the dream vehicle for tailgating and barbequing enthusiasts, this truck transforms into a mobile grill with a 2018 Titan XD Gas King Cab as its base.

The Smokin' Titan was created by removing the factory bed and mounting it to a B&S custom trailer that's hooked up to the rear of the truck. The Titanâ€™s existing tailgate was then replaced with a CM Truck Beds aluminum flatbed, which created three food prep stations, including a double burner stove, a Churrasco Brazilian wood cutting board, and a Teton Steel custom on-board sink and water storage system. Thereâ€™s even a slide-out fridge and freezer, as well as a custom-built spice rack to complete the set-up. It promises a smokinâ€™ good time with family and friends while you cheer on your favorite sports teams from the tailgate line.

If you regularly travel with kids or other passengers, the doors on your vehicle get a real work-out. Sometimes they are shut gently, but oftentimes they are slammed or closed with fervor as you rush out of your car to make it to a meeting or get inside the grocery store before they close for the night.

The doors on your vehicle take a lot of abuse, opening and closing 45,000 times over the course of a decade. Thatâ€™s a lot of slamming!

And the engineers at Nissan? They understand this reality, which is why they enlisted help from an automated test device â€“ a 1.5-ton durability robot, whose sole job is to test car door reliability at the Nissan Technical Center North America (NTCNA) in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The robot is named Rosie, but also goes by the nickname Mrs. Doorboto. In three days, she opens and closes a door as much as a typical customer does over the course of a decade, working around the clock with no breaks. And while Rosie works hard and for long hours, her robo-job is highly appreciated because it would be physically impossible (and mentally taxing) for a human tester to assess the durability of the door hinges, latch mechanisms, weatherstripping and window glass frames over a replicated ten-year period.

Itâ€™s certainly a tough job, but an important one, as it relates back to Nissanâ€™s promise of quality, durability, and innovation. And to that, we say, "Domo arigato, Mrs. Doorboto."

Great news for plow operators in Seattle!

Nissan recently announced that the 2018 Titan XD full-size pickup will be offered with a new Snow Plow Prep Package this fall. It will be available for use with a range of commercial and personal equipment manufacturers, including Boss, Fisher, Meyer, SnowEx and Western.

This package replaces the stock front springs with a higher capacity design, which increases front gross axle weight rating (GAWR) by 575 pounds (from 4,325 pounds to 4,900 pounds). This allows fitment of snow plows up to 786 pounds, and is compatible with all three TITAN XD V8 gas body configurations (Single Cab, King Cab and Crew Cab) and on S and SV grade levels.Â

With the amount of precipitation being predicted for the Pacific Northwest this winter, now is a great time for individual and commercial plowÂ operators to consider adding a 2018 TITAN XD to their fleet. Not only does this pickup offer the effortless towing and hauling of larger heavy-duty trucks, but itâ€™s also fuel-efficient, affordable and loaded with some nice creature comforts.
