I live in Ontario and wanted to purchase a Ford transit. There were many challenges in figuring out how we would get the vehicle to the East coast. Jag helped me patiently throughout the whole process. Any time I needed something I was able to text him and he responded as soon as he was able. It was a pleasure dealing with Jag and Key West Ford! Thank you all!

These guys don’t communicate with each other. We wasted hours at the dealership test driving and getting a contract worked out and at the last minute we were told, “ oh this truck was sold 2 days ago”. We had taken a ferry into the city specifically to purchase this truck. How hard is it for the sales guys to put a sold sign on a vehicle? You would think they would have a bulletin board with inventory sales listed. Unacceptable!

Michelle Kellough, was extremely helpful navigating through our warranty options, we were presently surprised with what she found for us. Nissan News
Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
With consumer interest for all-electric vehicles growing and with tougher emissions regulations expected to come into play, Nissan has announced that it will be ramping up its EV production over the next few years. Dubbed “M.O.V.E. to 2022”, the automaker plans to launch as many as eight new fully electric cars within the next four years, building on the success of its best-selling Leaf. Nissan also has plans to introduce additional EVs in China by participating in various joint ventures.

According to industry buzz, these vehicles will include a new C-segment EV this year, which will be derived from the Leaf, as well as an affordable new A-segment EV, similar to the Fiat 500. Nissan’s Infiniti brand is also expected to electrify its entire lineup by 2021.

The ultimate goal of Nissan’s “M.O.V.E. to 2022” is to sell one million electrified vehicles annually by 2022. If you do the math, that’s six times more than the number of EVs the automaker sold last year. It's an aspiring objective, but one the company welcomes.

According to Philippe Klein, Nissan’s Chief Planning Officer, “Our product and technology strategy is dedicated to positioning Nissan to lead the automotive, technology and business evolution. Our efforts are focused on delivering Nissan Intelligent Mobility, encompassing the three core elements of electrification, autonomous drive, connectivity and new mobility services.”

Little more is known at this time, but this is a developing story that we are following closely. As more news is released, we’ll be sure to keep our Kirkland Nissan customers updated on our blog. To learn more about our current line-up of all-electric vehicles, including the all-new 2018 Leaf, contact our dealership in Seattle, Washington for a test drive.
best price on 2018 nissan leaf seattleNissan has reason to celebrate – as does the world. The all-new Leaf was just awarded the 2018 World Green Car title at the New York Auto Show! With this win, the Leaf becomes the first all-electric vehicle to drive off with the prize.

The 2018 Nissan Leaf beat out the BMW 530e iPerformance and the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, solidifying the EV as a world-favorite for plug-in battery power. And, truly, we’re not surprised!

Upon receiving the award, Nissan’s Daniele Schillaci, Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Sales, Zero Emission Vehicle and Battery Business, affirmed, “We’re very proud that since the Nissan Leaf launched in 2010, we’ve been able to put more than 300,000 zero-emission electric vehicles on the road worldwide, helping to reduce carbon footprints around the globe. We’re honored to be recognized by this esteemed jury and are proud to continue to expand the vision of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.”

The 2018 Nissan Leaf quickly rose to the top amongst the list of five initial category entries. It was also the only pure electric vehicle in the running. Judges measured the overall environmental impact, such as tailpipe emissions and fuel consumption, for each contender before selecting the overall winner.

Over seven years ago, the first-gen Nissan Leaf stole the title for World Car of the Year in 2011, so it’s quite fitting that the EV has come full circle once again, but now sporting better range, performance and smarter technology.

If you’d like to drive off a winner too, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington to go for a spin in a 2018 Leaf. Our inventory is stocked with options – make one yours today.
Nissan is back with another exciting collaboration with the legendary Hollywood automotive fabricators at Vehicle Effects – the same designers that created the seven "Star Wars: The Last Jedi”-inspired cars at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.

But this time, Nissan didn’t reveal “The Force” – they unveiled a trio of 2018 Leaf concept cars, inspired by “A Wrinkle in Time.” This collaboration celebrates the automaker’s partnership with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, which produced the film.

These one-of-a-kind Leaf vehicles use advanced LED technology to create a mesmerizing light show effect similar to the one seen in the movie. With breakthrough technology being a key part of the storyline, collaborating with the Nissan Leaf was a natural fit. After all, the cornerstone of the Leaf EV is the inclusion of revolutionary technologies, like ProPilot, which relieves the stresses of highway driving for motorists.

According to CarScoops, all three modified Nissan Leafs use design elements inspired by the extravagant costumes worn by the film's characters, including Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling) and Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon). Custom touch-sensitive screens covering the windshield and side windows also act as a stage for the interactive light show, which mimics the "wrinkle" effect from the movie. Additionally, the concept cars are equipped with heat-sensing cameras that track and react to approaching users.

Unfortunately for Disney fans, these Leaf show vehicles are not for sale. However, they do celebrate a new world of technology, which can be found on stock 2018 Leaf models.

best price 2018 nissan leaf seattle washingtonBy now, you've heard all of the amazing things that the Nissan Leaf can do: it eliminates gas costs with its plug-in performance, it can drive 150 miles on a single charge, and it can even let motorists accelerate, decelerate and stop their car by using the accelerator pedal alone. All pretty impressive, right?

Well, now, the Leaf is up to its latest endeavor - partaking in the Electric Explorer African Challenge 2018, which is the first-ever EV expedition across Africa.

Driven by Polish traveler, Arkady Paweł Fiedler, and accompanied by photographer Albert Wójtowicz, the two men will traverse great distances in an unmodified Leaf, starting in Western Africa and finally crossing western Europe to their home country. Poor road conditions, limited charging infrastructure and dramatically diverse weather conditions are sure to make their trek a challenge, but the adventurers are confident.

"We're optimistic," said Fiedler in a press release. "As part of the tests, I've already travelled over 4,000 kilometers in Poland in a Nissan Leaf, and I'm positively surprised by the driving range offered."

Apart from being the first ever EV journey across the African continent, the expedition also aims to raise awareness of plug-in technologies that are now available to the masses. The goal is to show consumers that they have a choice - all of which has a great impact on the earth and our environment.

Curious to see how well the Leaf fares? You can follow along with Fiedler's journey on Facebook and Instagram.

The Nissan Motor Corporation recently announced that its best-selling electric vehicle, the Leaf, has earned a five-star safety rating from the Japan New Car Assessment Program. This is the highest rating possible that an automobile can be awarded.

The zero-emission Leaf scored 94.8 points out of a possible 100 for occupant safety in a collision. The program is run by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the National Agency for Automotive Safety and Victims' Aid.

According to Nissan, the 2018 Leaf offers a host of standard safety features, which contributed to the EV's five-star rating. They include a highly rigid body structure, six SRS airbags, seats with enforced headrests and back frames, and seat belts with pre-tensioners and load-limiting capabilities for the front and rear outboard seating positions. The Leaf is also equipped with a number of advanced technologies, including ProPilot for autonomous single-lane driving on highways, ProPilot Park autonomous parking, and e-Pedal, which lets drivers accelerate and brake by operating only the accelerator pedal.

The next-gen Leaf also passed the Japan New Car Assessment Program's electric shock protection trial with flying colors, which tests to see how well a vehicle protects occupants from being shocked in a collision. The EV's highly protective battery case, layout and body structure performed extremely well by shielding passengers from high-voltage parts. The car is also equipped with a high-voltage cut-off device that activates in a collision, thus offering additional security.

nissan electric vehicles in seattle washingtonGreat news for Seattle area all-electric vehicle fans! A recent Automotive News article reports that Nissan will add four EVs to its line-up over the next five years, along with its luxury counterpart Infiniti, which is expected to add two EVs to its product line within the same timeframe.

These six battery-powered vehicles are the Japanese automaker's share of the 12 EVs that are now planned for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi brand through to 2022. Up until now, a breakdown has not been available by brand. But, according to Toshihiro Hirai, Corporate VP for Powertrain and EV Engineering, the six Nissan vehicles will only include full all-electric vehicles and not plug-in hybrids, like the new e-Power system, which is currently available in Japan on the Nissan Note.

Rumours of an electric SUV have also been swirling for quite some time, especially since the release of the Nissan IMx Concept at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. And there is the likelihood of a multi-purpose vehicle as well, which could prove popular with large families looking for an alternative to gas-powered minivans. These prospective models would join the next-gen Leaf, which is currently for sale in North America and boasts a significantly revised design and increased powertrain performance.

The world’s premier automotive partnership, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, announced this week the launch of Alliance Ventures. It stands as a new fund determined to invest as much as $1 billion into industry innovation over the course of the next five years.

The venture capital fund’s first year is expected to bring the investment of approximately $200 million in various promising start-ups that focus on the advancement of worldwide mobility, artificial intelligence (AI), and autonomous systems. By the “midterm” period of the company’s plan—2022—Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi expects to have the largest corporate endowment of its type.

Alliance Ventures will first invest in US-based Ionic Materials. That company is currently dedicated to the development of solid-state, cobalt-free battery materials that could find future use in such Nissan EVs as the zero-emissions LEAF. The 2018 version of that vehicle is set to deliver an all-electric output of 147 HP and 236-lb.-ft. of torque with a driving range of 150 miles on a single charge.
