Prepare to seek out the stars, Sumner - with Nissan unveiling its space-worthy 2019 Navara Dark Sky. This Frontier variant proves ready for every interstellar adventure, connecting drivers to cosmic-inspired design.

According to The Drive, the Dark Sky is inspired by the worlds beyond our own. Nissan - in partnership with the European Space Agency - has crafted a half-ton option for those searching for answers both in the stars and on the trails. Beneath its nebula-splashed hood growls a 2.3L diesel engine, which yields 190 HP and 331 lb.-ft of torque. A rugged ladder-frame pairs with a raised suspension, ensuring off-road adaptability; while flared wheel arches defend against debris. Deep-treaded all-season tires maximize traction, letting the truck roll over every obstacle with ease; and electric power-assisted steering bolsters the column to promote smooth turns.

These technologies enable the 2019 Navara to conquer any terrain - promising prime star-gazing opportunities for drivers. Climb the highest inclines with twin-turbo confidence; and then take advantage of the truck’s exclusive mechanized roof, which seamlessly opens to allow for panoramic views and quick telescope maneuvering.

The 2019 Navara Dark Sky is tailored for constellational adventures - and we can only hope that Nissan will let Washington drivers sample its dynamic capabilities.

nissan dealership new used seattle washingtonNissan has always remained ahead of the curve when it comes to innovative technologies and safety features. And now, they are projecting even further into the future by announcing that they will expand their Safety Shield 360 suite of features and driver-assist technologies to all of their top-selling models in North America.

According to the automaker, the Safety Shield 360 will boast six standard features that will protect drivers and passengers from all sides of the vehicle:

• In the front, the system will offer Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Assist.

• All sides will be equipped with Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

• In the back, Rear Automatic Braking will prevent collisions with stationary objects.

The decision to include these standard technologies was made by Nissan as a response to a recent study conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). According to their findings, cross traffic alert reduces crashes by 22 percent, while the combination of rearview cameras and sensors reduces crashes by 42 percent. Adding rear emergency braking reduces backing crashes by an additional 78 percent compared to vehicles without these features.

Currently, Safety Shield 360 will be introduced as standard equipment on SV and SL grades of the forthcoming 2019 Rogue, 2019 Rogue Sport and the all-new 2019 Altima. Remaining vehicles are expected to include this upgrade by 2021.

Seeing stars? Don’t be alarmed; this is not a medical emergency. What you are seeing is Nissan’s latest concept vehicle, Dark Sky.

Unveiled at the Hannover Motor Show, the truck was designed to aid the European Space Agency when off-roading into areas of low light pollution to stargaze. If you look closely, the concept is essentially a modified Navara pick-up (the global market equivalent to the Nissan Frontier) with a trailer attached. It’s a truck turned mobile observatory.

In the trailer, the Dark Sky concept is equipped with an ultra-high performance PlaneWave telescope and cradle, which use upgraded Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies to transport the equipment to remote locations. This includes a self-hitching trailer hook-up, enhanced blind spot monitors, and an Intelligent Around View Monitor, which gives the driver a bird's-eye-view around the vehicle. Nissan’s ProPilot driver assistance technology is standard as well.

The truck is also outfitted with an UHF transmitter, laptop station and eight radar units with wifi, which are powered by an auxiliary bank of batteries influenced by the Leaf EV. No matter how remote the location, the Dark Sky has all the juice it needs.

Sadly, for Seattle star-watchers, you’ll be disappointed to know that the Dark Sky concept won’t be available for sale. Instead, it’s being donated to the European Space Agency to be used in future research opportunities.

For now, the closest way to get a glimpse of Dark Sky’s capabilities is to schedule a test drive in a Frontier. To learn more, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan today.
best price 2019 nissan pathfinder seattle waIf you are ready to upgrade your too-small sedan for something better equipped for your growing family, the 2019 Pathfinder is worth some serious consideration. Nissan just announced details about the forthcoming model and it’s loaded with more tech and convenience features than ever before.

Best of all, the pricing for the 2019 model isn’t drastically different than previously. The base MSRP of $31,230 for the Pathfinder S 2WD is a small increase from 2018, but with it comes more standard features, including a Rear Sonar System on all trims and new USB type-C ports.

The seven-passenger 2019 Nissan Pathfinder will be available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations and a choice of four grade levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. On top of the enhancements to the base level, the SV and higher trims will now also boast Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Standard LED headlights will be included on all SL and Platinum grades as well.

In 2018, Nissan introduced an automatic emergency braking system and a rear door alert system to the Pathfinder – both of which will continue to make an appearance on the 2019 model. Under the hood, all trims will also run on a 3.5-liter V6 engine with direct injection, mated to an Xtronic automatic transmission, which nets a combined 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. According to Nissan, the Pathfinder offers a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of up to 6,000 lbs (when properly equipped), giving owners the ability to tow recreational trailers, watercrafts, flatbeds or campers.

2019 models of the all-new Pathfinder are expected to hit our inventory very soon. To pre-schedule a test drive, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington.

The 2019 Versa Note, which is the hatchback version of the popular Versa sedan, will start at $15,545 for the base S trim level. This is only $50 more than the 2018 model’s pricing – a small increase, but very reasonable. Under the hood of every trim is a fuel-efficient 109-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine, which is paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission.

For those drivers wanting a few more comfort and convenience features, the Versa Note SV is a $900 upgrade from the S, but adds power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control, additional driver seat adjustments, and upgraded cloth upholstery. A $735 package on the SV will also fetch you keyless ignition, satellite radio, and an enhanced infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

new nissan titan for sale seattle bellevue waTurn the highway into a concert hall - utilizing the 2019 Titan’s newly revised audio system to optimize every chord. Nissan wishes to pump up the volume with each mile, and a recent partnership with famed guitar-house, Fender, promises pavement-shaking sound.

According to The News Wheel, Nissan is redefining the pick-up market - pairing its 2019 Titan fleet with pure Fender sound. When slipping into the cabin riders will be greeted by a 12-speaker experience - with tweeters mounted strategically along the A- and C-Pillars to maximize each note. A 485-watt amplifier will yield nine-channel power, while the inclusion of Panasonic Acoustic Motion Control technology will strengthen every signal (automatically stripping away unwanted vibrations to ensure rich decibels). A seven-inch color display will provide quick access to content, utilizing streaming Bluetooth links to connect with satellite and AM/FM channels alike; and steering wheel-mounted controls will enable drivers to change volume levels, engage with the Radio Data System, and more: all with the press of a button.

By partnering with Fender Nissan ensures that music-fans will never be without the bass-lines they crave. This, The News Wheel reports, is the only sound system of its kind within the pick-up market - and it promises exceptional audio quality.

new 2019 nissan altima for sale seattle bellevue waThe name makes you pause - VC-Turbo. Such an engine will deliver speed, you’re sure, but not economy. It will demand endless drops of fuel to satisfy its four-cylinder hunger, and you quickly walk away before the want of power overwhelms the need for efficiency.

Come back! We promise that this Altima engine won’t leave you struggling at the pump.

As Car and Driver explains, the 2019 Altima SR boasts a new powerpoint - the VC-Turbo. This block delivers impressive performance, with its exclusive variable compression ratio technology optimizing the top dead center. It enables intake levels to jump between 14.0:1 to 8.0:1, intuitively adjusting displacements to accommodate the performance-band. Through this enhanced output is assured; and 248 HP allows operators to fly down the highway.

Don’t fret, Everett. This power doesn’t demand a sacrifice of economy. Instead the new Altima yields 25 MPGs in the city and 34 MPGs on the highway, relying on custom intake sequences to improve distribution. By pairing the camshafts with advanced phasers, Nissan allows the VC-Turbo engine to better control each drop of fuel - lessening resources when the block is idling and increasing them on sharp inclines. Its high-compression design ensures optimal allotments at all times.

With the release of the 2019 Altima SR drivers can experience a combined MPG ratio of 29 - and this will translate into ample savings with every mile. To learn more contact us today!
Big things do indeed come in small packages. With the release of the 2018 Kicks SV Nissan proves that power no longer belongs to the hulking crossover market. Instead this utilitarian hatchback can deliver potent performance, allowing Seattle drivers to fuse each day with the handling they crave.

According to The Drive, the new Kicks SV yields impressive power. Beneath its hood purrs a 1.6L DOHC four-cylinder engine - which generates 125 HP (at 5,800 RPMs) and 115 lb.-ft of torque (at 4,000 RPMs). A 16-valve design produces superior intake levels, allowing air to move efficiently through the block; while a dual injector system sends steady bursts of fuel and maintains the performance-band. An XTronic Continuously Variable Transmission bolsters every sequence, smoothly gliding to optimum gear ratios; and electric-assisted steering strengthens each response, enabling operators to quickly navigate even the sharpest turns.

The 2018 Kicks proves dynamic, with critics noting a 0 to 60 time of approximately nine seconds. This - when combined with the car’s low curb weight (2654 pounds) - ensures a skid-pad acceleration of 0.56g and lets drivers fly down the highway.

Want to experience robust hatchback performance? Visit our dealership today to take a test-drive in the new Kicks - and don’t hesitate to request further specs and financing information as well.

new nissan rogue sl for sale seattle bellevue waAttention strays; focus wanes; and you find your thoughts drifting, lulled by the dullness of a commute. It’s late and your mind simply can’t maintain the rigid alertness needed to navigate the highway. Slowly, steadily, your car begins to swerve.

Nissan will put you on the proper path again.

As CarBuzz explains, the 2019 Rogue SL has been equipped with Lane Departure technology. This system protects drivers against sudden veers, automatically assessing trajectory patterns and identifying potential concerns. Sensors - mounted along the bumpers - release real-time scans of the roadways, quickly noting all markers. From this information a digital grid is created, with the platform mapping out the surrounding area. If proper positioning is maintained no actions will be required.

If, however, the Lane Departure system detects a change in alignment (with sensors noting any straying toward the wrong side of the road), then a series of steps will be occur:

Audible Signals - chimes will be streamed through the speaker system, alerting drivers to their positions.

Visual Warnings - text messages will flash across the seven-inch touchscreen, requesting that immediate action be taken.

Lane Departure Prevention - if drivers do not respond to these alerts, then the available LDP system will activate. This will assume control of the steering column, gently maneuvering the Rogue back to its proper place.

By fusing the 2019 Rogue SL with Lane Departure technology Nissan brings safety to the highway. To learn more contact our team today!
