Complacency is a dirty word - which is why Nissan has struck it from the company lexicon, refusing to acknowledge its existence. Engineers arenâ€™t allowed to whisper it; designers canâ€™t debate its merits; and compliance officers must never entertain its meaning. Instead they must all emphasize innovation with every breath.

Itâ€™s this vocabulastic dedication that has enabled Nissan to launch its 2018 LEAF - and dominate the global market.

According to Electrek, the 2018 LEAF will soon rev from country to country. Nissan is expanding its production processes, seeking to establish itself in every corner of the world; and, to do this, itâ€™s bringing an all-green initiative to seven additional markets: Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

Nissan has never proven a strong presence in these areas - with sales trailing its Ford and Honda competitors. The brand is confident, however, that the 2018 LEAF will deliver massive sales. This all-electric hatchback has already earned record-breaking pre-orders in Europe and the United States; and consumer interest is at a high. Itâ€™s the perfect time, therefore, to dominate the Australasia market.

How will the LEAF accomplish this task? We believe its e-powertrain will impress every driver - yielding a peppy 147 HP (a 38% increase over the previous generation) and 236 lb.-ft of torque (a 26% increase, respectively). The laminated lithium-ion battery cells provide 60% more energy acceleration to ensure a 150-mile range; and the recently stiffened torsion bar allows for stable handling. This platform will maneuver through every challenge with ease.

Itâ€™s coming - that rush of snow and sleet. Old Man Winter is huffing and puffing his way toward Seattle, shaking the ground with each stomp of his feet; and soon the miles will turn slick from the season.

According to Four Wheeler, a new kind of all-terrain monster is coming to Seattle. Soon Nissan will debut its 2018 370Z Ki - a custom-tuned coupe that will defy the winter. Anchoring this platform is an advanced tract system, with the suspension lifted three inches to accommodate front-mounted skis and rear Dominator tracks. Massive skid-plates defend the undercarriage, while boomerang-shaped halogen headlamps promote premium visibility (they cut through fog and sleet with equal ease). Enhanced wheel spacers accommodate both performance tires and snow-blades; and a revised AWD allows the car to deliver maximum traction on slick roads, distributing torque as needed.

When these features combine, they let the 2018 370Z Ki glide through the miles - utilizing its unique ski-tracks to accelerate smoothly. This car delivers the precision of a snowboard, with Nissan fusing it with a sport-tuned transmission that seamlessly adapts to changing terrains; and the inclusion of a custom-mounted exhaust system promotes improved air intake, lessening the burden of the engine.

This smart technology was created by two Nissan staffers - Elsa Foley, an industrial engineer and mother of two young children, and Marlene Mendoza, a mechanical engineer and mother of three. "The Rear Door Alert uses a similar honking cue that has been proven successful with Nissan's Easy Fill Tire Alert," said Foley in a press release. "By drawing your attention back to the vehicle, once you've walked away, you are more likely to recheck the back seat than with a visual alert alone."

Great news for Seattle area all-electric vehicle fans! A recent Automotive News article reports that Nissan will add four EVs to its line-up over the next five years, along with its luxury counterpart Infiniti, which is expected to add two EVs to its product line within the same timeframe.

These six battery-powered vehicles are the Japanese automaker's share of the 12 EVs that are now planned for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi brand through to 2022. Up until now, a breakdown has not been available by brand. But, according to Toshihiro Hirai, Corporate VP for Powertrain and EV Engineering, the six Nissan vehicles will only include full all-electric vehicles and not plug-in hybrids, like the new e-Power system, which is currently available in Japan on the Nissan Note.

Rumours of an electric SUV have also been swirling for quite some time, especially since the release of the Nissan IMx Concept at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. And there is the likelihood of a multi-purpose vehicle as well, which could prove popular with large families looking for an alternative to gas-powered minivans. These prospective models would join the next-gen Leaf, which is currently for sale in North America and boasts a significantly revised design and increased powertrain performance.

Nissan certainly has winter on its mind! To complement the snowmobile-inspired 370Zki, which the automaker is unveiling at this week's Chicago Auto Show, the engineers at Nissan have also created a second concept car, dubbed the 2018 Armada Snow Patrol.

This design literally takes Nissan's flagship SUV to new heights, removing the Armada from the carpool line and returning it to its roots as an adventure-ready off-roader. It features an all-new design with more height, a massive front bumper, and extreme all-terrain tires, making this SUV ready for anything, including snow-covered mountains.

The 2018 Armada Snow Patrol comes equipped with 20-inch Cognito Series 61 wheels finished in satin black and Pro Comp MT2 off-road tires. The suspension has been raised by two inches in the front and one inch in the rear, giving it a towering and aggressive stance.Â

Up front, the bumper features a new bull bar, 12,000 lb winch, and LED light bar. Adding to the vehicle's rugged appeal are five-inch LED fog lights, custom side steps, rock sliders, and a huge LED light bar on the roof rack. Under the Armada Snow Patrol's bright blue wrap with custom badging, the interior of the cabin has also been re-trimmed with leather seats and door panels.

The Armada Snow Patrol is a definite hard-core SUV - one that has Seattle off-roaders hoping to see it hit the production line soon. Alas, the automaker has yet to announce official plans for this concept - and they may never will.Â

Just when you think youâ€™ve seen it all, Nissan has turned its iconic 370Z Roadster into a snowmobile. Thatâ€™s right â€“ a snowmobile. Dubbed the 370Zki â€“ pronounced â€œ370-Ski" â€“ the 332-horsepower concept will make its world debut this week at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show.

And what better place to unveil a snowmobile-inspired vehicle than in the â€œWindy Cityâ€ in the dead of winter. Should Chicago get plummeted with a blizzard, the 370Zki will have no trouble carving its way through deep powder to reach McCormick Place.

However, transforming a stock 370Z to the 370Zki was not easy. To make room for the rear DOMINATOR Tracks, the Roadsterâ€™s entire drivetrain had to be removed. Next came the fabrication of custom mountings for the rear suspension springs and three-inch custom spacers to install the snow tracks to the wheel hubs. The 370Zâ€™s brakes were retained, but the lines had to be rerouted and the exhaust system was modified to fit under the vehicle. The rear wheel wells were also altered for clearance of the four-foot-long snow tracks.Â

On the exterior, Nissan kept its cosmetic changes to a minimum, opting to wrap the 370Zki to resemble ski goggles. Watch as it is put through its paces on the slopes in Wyoming:
