There’s been some huge news in the automotive world this week! If you recall back to last June, Nissan revealed a special edition of its GT-R during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. The vehicle marked the 50th anniversary of both the model and Italdesign – the Italian firm in charge of the GT-R50’s design. Days before its public debut at Goodwood, an official prototype was unveiled, yet there was no word of a forthcoming production.
Â
Well, all that has changed. Nissan and Italdesign have now confirmed that a limited production run of the GT-R50 will, in fact, move ahead.
Â
Priced at 990,000 euros (or approximately $1.1 million USD), the GT-R50 will growl with a 3.8-liter V6 engine rated at 710 horsepower. This is over and above the performance of the regular model with the NISMO trim level, plus buyers will have a choice of interior and exterior colors to suit their personal style.

The special edition GT-R50 will be produced in Italdesign’s shop in Turin, Italy, with only 50 models being made. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2019 and will continue through 2020.
