Seattle tuners – start your engines! Nissan just announced that they will celebrate 50 years of performance at the New York International Auto Show in April. While their teaser doesn’t explain much as of now, fans can get a sneak preview of the Nissan Dream Garage, which will be on display at the show.
The automaker shared an image of their Dream Garage, which includes well-lit models of a 240Z, an R32-generation GT-R race car, a C110-generation GT-R, and an R34-generation GT-R. Lurking below in the shadows, it’s hard to decipher the other types of vehicles, but speculators say that a 50th-anniversary edition 370Z is a possibility, along with a modern GT-R, GT-R50, and GT-R Nismo.
Industry insiders have been waiting with bated breath for the official word from Nissan regarding new generations of the 370Z and GT-R. Any Google search brings up pages of content hypothesizing about the forthcoming models’ performance specs and design features. Last we heard, the next Z might premiere with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with hybrid assistance, while the GT-R will utilize electrification. While we wait for official confirmation, the Nissan Dream Garage is a nice distraction.
The NYIAS kicks off on Friday, April 19, 2019. Be sure to check back to our blog for show news and highlights as they unfold.
