Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
Nissan’s always up to something that involves pushing boundaries and gradually evolving the world we’re living in. Sometimes that purely entails a new automobile-exclusive technology, but at other junctures, it’s something a bit grander in scope. This is the latter case, as the manufacturer is working to nurture a clean energy initiative in Japan and globally.

The initial focus comes in the Land of the Rising Sun. Nissan announced today that 2018 LEAF owners in that country qualify for the free installation of solar panels. The unique offer comes via a partnership between Ecosystem Japan and the automaker, with the goal of achieving the use of 100% clean energy to power the all-new electric vehicle. Anyone that signs up for a qualifying plan will receive the system, which can then be leveraged to juice up their EV.

The 2018 LEAF itself brings the prospect of clean energy usage outside of Japan and to the rest of the world, including within Seattle when the car releases early next year. The new vehicle adopts a maximum driving range of 150 miles on only one charge. Additionally, the all-electric engine produces a healthy 147 horses and 236-lb.-ft. of torque.

But, now, the all-new Rogue is being recognized for more than its good looks and easy on-road dynamics. It was recently awarded a 2018 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) – one of the industry’s most esteemed honors recognizing driver and passenger safety.

During the evaluations, the 2018 Rogue earned “Good” scores across the board for its crashworthiness in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint and seat tests. It also scored a “Superior” rating for front crash prevention, an “Acceptable” score for headlights, and a “Marginal” score for the ease of child seat anchors. Both help drivers avoid a collision, which is the best way to ensure your safety on the roads.

buy a new nissan titan xd midnight edition in seattle washintonTo celebrate the darkest day of the year, Nissan released the 2018 Titan XD Midnight Edition on December 21st. Designed with a heaping helping of flair and personality (on top of the style it already had no less), this truck’s new coloring is bound to turn heads anywhere. Coupled with its remarkable performance features, this vehicle is a no-brainer for those drivers seeking to leave an impression of both their car’s ability and its attitude.

The first —and arguably the most noticeable— feature of the truck’s recent makeover is its 20-inch aluminum wheels, dyed to complement its namesake. Next comes the distinctive grille, recolored to match the paint-job that’s available in ‘pearl white’, ‘gun metallic’, or (of course) ‘super black’. The inky surrounds in the headlights are the cherry on this cake, letting those around you know immediately what they’re dealing with.

Style and flair aside, no truck is complete without sheer, unbridled strength. After all, what’s a dog that’s all bark? The XD model is capable of over 12,000 lbs of towing capacity and 2,000 lbs of payload, easily ensuring no project is too ambitious for this powerful pickup. Fueled by the available V8 Cummins turbo-diesel engine, expect the type of force that tackles jobs like a square-shouldered quarterback.

As part of the holiday season, Nissan took it upon themselves to look back on a dozen of the most significant industry news stories of 2017. One of their chosen highlights involves the incredible 2018 Pathfinder and its Rear Door Alert technology.

Imagine that you’ve just headed to the store to pick up a variety of groceries, including some ice cream to cater to your sweet tooth. You happen to throw the bulk of the bags in the front passenger seat floorboard, but run out of room and place a few in the rear—including the aforementioned treat. When you arrive home, however, you rush inside with all your goods but neglect the few parcels left in the back. And that includes your chilled dessert—which, before you remember to return and grab it, turns into a soupy mush in the summer heat outside.

Such an event can be avoided, however. Nissan’s Rear Door Alert—included on the 2018 Pathfinder—works to prevent such mishaps by using advanced interior sensors. It leverages these to intelligently monitor all openings and closings and knows when you don’t return to grab your goods. When this happens, the crossover releases a triple horn honk to gain your attention before you run inside. Smart!

Ring us at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle today to hear more about the Pathfinder’s advantages!
Car buyers in the Seattle area should look no further than Nissan for their next vehicle. As evidenced by the 2018 Pathfinder, they’re a company that’s absolutely dedicated to safety and security. From amazing features to fantastic crashworthiness test results, this crossover offers everything you need!

The 2018 Pathfinder comes stocked with a wide variety of standard features designed to keep occupants secure. A low tire pressure warning is included that alerts you whenever a change needs to be made. A blind spot sensor keeps you aware of your surroundings when on busy highways. Rear child safety door locks are featured, as are daytime running lights. And there are plenty of inflatables stocked throughout the cabin, including front, rear, and side curtain airbags.

Nissan’s crossover is also well regarded by the IIHS. It received near perfect scores in its safety examinations. A ranking of “Good”—the highest—was earned in the body’s “Small Overlap Front Driver-side,” “Moderate Overlap Front,” “Head Restraints & Seats,” “Side,” and “Roof Strength” tests.

Swing by Kirkland Nissan in Seattle now! We’d love to give you a tour of the 2018 Pathfinder.
Heads up, Seattle! If you’re searching for a crossover that puts the safety of you and your passengers first, look no further than the 2018 Nissan Murano. It’s a heralded vehicle with advanced technology designed to get you securely to your destination.

The 2018 Murano features “superior front crash prevention” according to the Institute for Highway Safety. The IIHS also came away mightily impressed in other categories. The crossover received the highest score of “Good” in each of the body's tests. That includes the “Small Overlap Front,” “Moderate Overlap Front,” “Side,” “Head Restraints & Seats,” and “Roof Strength” examinations.

It should be no surprise that the Murano fares so well in the above exams. It has a bevy of onboard safety features, including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. This watches not one but two cars ahead, measuring distance and speed. When it senses deceleration, it will alert you to slow down. There’s also Automatic Emergency Braking. When enabled, this prevents crashes by stopping on your behalf. Also, a rollover sensor can detect the impending situation before it occurs, automatically deploying the side curtain airbags to cushion passengers. Stunning technology, right?

Stop by Kirkland Nissan in Seattle today to take the 2018 Murano for a spin!
You’ve heard us chatting about the Consumer Electronics Show in this space before, and today we wanted to bring all you tech enthusiasts a little more information about the Japanese automaker’s scheduled appearance this upcoming year. The Las Vegas event, set to kick off on January 9, will mark the reiteration of the manufacturer’s commitment to Intelligent Mobility as well as the U.S. debut of the IMx concept vehicle.

One of the technologies Nissan will have on display at CES 2018 is their ProPILOT Assist. It’s a progressive adaptive cruise control system that’s set to move the industry forward with its inclusion on upcoming vehicles, including the all-new LEAF. It imbues an automobile with the ability to automatically manage its distance from any car traveling ahead, selectively braking to maintain proper separation. However, it also keeps the machine centered within its lane, adjusting steering as necessary. Fantastic!

The IMx concept vehicle is set to wow, too. It offers fully autonomous driving via its PD mode. With that selected, the wheel stows away, all seats recline, and the computer takes over completely. Nissan’s wonder car automatically takes you to your destination, accelerating, braking, and steering all the way.

Nissan has announced that the initial batch of 2018 Kicks has come out of their Rio de Janeiro industrial complex and are now being transported to neighboring Argentina. The 933 units mark some of the first shipping anywhere in the world. They begin wider global production ahead of the model’s introduction to Seattle and North America showrooms in June of next year.

The Kicks is a fantastic new compact crossover set to shake up the market. It comes packed with a 1.6L four-cylinder motor offering 125 horses and 115-lb.-ft. of torque. The efficiency of the engine is astounding—the EPA estimates you’ll receive an unbelievable 33 miles per gallon combined. And the Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) is smoother than any automatic you’ve ever driven.

The exterior has a lot going for it, too. The now customary V-Motion Nissan grille is used to striking effect, while the headlamps are elongated and boomerang-shaped. This provides a thrilling look. LED technology is available both on the front and rear lights. Additionally, the inclusion of the eye-popping floating roof means there are a total of seven body colors and five two-tone designs offered.

The all-electric Nissan LEAF is an incredible zero-emissions vehicle that’s been completely redesigned for 2018, offering brand new performance and intelligence features. Accordingly, consumers are voting with their wallets. A total of 10,000 customers have already pre-ordered the car ahead of next year.

Since its unveiling in October 2017, the 2018 LEAF has received unprecedented interest. Orders for the first EV in the line back in 2010 only numbered in the hundreds. It was, after all, unproven technology. However, there has been a five-fold increase in purchases since 2012, with 83,000 drivers now on the road.

The 10,000 orders in Europe alone come ahead of the LEAF’s release in February 2018. Consumers in Seattle will be eager to get in on the fun, too, as the new car features a number of advancements. Included among these is ProPILOT Advanced Driving Assistance, which monitors vehicles traveling ahead and automatically breaks and centers itself within the lane as necessary. Additionally, the EV boasts a 150-mile range
and the convenience of ePedal technology. This system enables owners to stop, start, accelerate and brake using only one input.
